I hope you are able to wean him off, I know those are some heavy duty drugs but if you don't have a choice then you do what you have to but I hope he is able to get off them!

I hope so too. I've consulted with a lot of vets and a pharmacists and know that I will do my part.

My nephew went through a couple of years of really frightening seizures. After loads of testing and meeting with specialists, a neurologist said that it is common for kids to outgrow them. The doc was right and my nephew is fine today.

Karen, Max is in my thoughts and prayers for everything to go well.

Thank you so much Kristin. This is what I am hoping, since his seizure activity was so unusual anyway. Today is 1 week that we are doing 25% less and so far so good.

It's been 2 weeks and 2 days and so far so good

I lowered his dosage by 25% for the past 2 weeks. This past Monday I was supposed to go down to 50% but I just feel that it's too fast. I called the vet and I'm going to keep him at this dosage for another week, then decrease another 25%.

Thank you Kathy. Me too! I'm on high alert with him. This morning he was very still and I was afraid he was going to seize. Before I could approach him he pounced on a squeaky ball that was hiding in the corner

I fought giving Elvis pheno! We did the geez was it with an a or an l...I just saw this thread and am so excited I'm numb in the noggin.
I didnt realize your little guy had it so awful in the begining Im so sorry.
How exciting he might be able to do well unmedicated. I just thought it was for life.
Elvis just had his dosage upped...he continued spiratic seizures, so for us ending meds will probably never be a reality.
Sorry but we'll interpersonalize your good news and have a little party here for yall!

Oh and we just love the fake plesebo pill! Elvis has his shoved in a peice of cheese. He is starting to get the routine down...he gets cheese tid and the other dogs don't LoL
