Kacee needs your prayers and any help

Just seeing this thread. I hope that Kaycee continues to improve. You might want to ask your vet about giving her Pepcid. My Cookie takes it daily because she is on prednisone...it prevents that stomach irritation that often comes with the pred.

Thank you. That is what we did. I'm trying to avoid giving her anymore of them though.

She's going to be spoiled rotten from being carried around all of the time.

Oh Karen,
I'm so sorry to hear that poor little Kacee is in pain. I haven't been on much lately and now I read this. I'm so sorry. You must have been beside yourself. I hope she'll feel a little better every minute. When Calleigh tore her ACL, I kept her in her soft airline carrier. She didn't want to try to get out of it. I'll ckeck on you tomorrow to see how both of you are doing.

Just seeing this, so sorry Kacee is going thru this but glad to see that she's on the mends now. It's so hard when they are not well but it sounds like you are doing everything that you can. She's definitely going to be milking the hold and carrying.

She wasn't spoiled enough before. Muffin's breeder had a teenage daughter and she carried Muffin around all of the time. She was the tiniest of the litter and so she came home pre-spoiled. Now I'm going to have another one that may be spoiled rotten being carried around.

Thank you! She is mostly resting everyday all day long. She just gets to be up long enough to potty. She hasn't figured out why I put her harness on her and carry her out to her fenced yard yet. She always thinks she's going for a walk!

Seriously, I am starting to see a tiny improvement daily. I can't wait!

I believe it, and I have no doubt you fulfilled her wish. Kacee is a very lucky little girl. I'm sure she enjoyed being on her usual walking route.

Thank you both! She has certainly been feeling better everyday, but she's still limping a lot. The dr said it would take a couple of weeks. I thought she was probably tossing out guess. Tomorrow morning makes one week. I've never dealt with a sprain before. I will admit I expected to see more improvement quicker than I have.

She was laying in here staring at me while I ate my evening meal. She wanted me to carry her on her walk again. We went for our "walk" after I ate. Her little head is on a swivel the entire time we're "walking". It's amazing how much her walks always meant to her.

Sprains usually take a little bit to heal on humans I think. So I bet our pups are about the same. I know it must be hard not seeing faster improvement. Hang in there!!

Thank you! She is really about the same as yesterday, but she has really been wired today. I can see the energy building up with no outlet to burn it off. She looked toward her favorite room from which she does her guard dog routine this evening, so I carried her in there and just held her on the back of the couch. She laid there looking for the longest time. That is the room where I had to put the baby gate up, so she wouldn't keep going in there and try to get on the couch. It's really hard, because she isn't sick and there is no way to burn off the energy. We are doing the best we can though. She will probably be so happy if she is ever walking normally again that she will never want me to carry her again!
