Kacee needs your prayers and any help

She hasn't. The dr just said to restrict her activity and it has been extremely restricted. Wanted to go see the dr last Saturday, but I had a repairman that could only come that morning and the dr is only open Sat mornings. I couldn't go during the week this week. I have never dealt with a doggie sprain before. This is a first.

I'm only asking because Max was in a similar situation a while back. He hurt his hip because he fell off a couch. I restricted his activity but it wasn't that restricted. Sometimes I would let him rest all day in his kennel and when he would come out he would walk with a normal gait and then all of a sudden start limping again. This went on for a couple of weeks. When I finally restricted his activity for a full 7 days (barely even any walking) he was as good as new.

The doctor's visit may give you more insight.

I hope so. She does barely any walking during the day. Probably need to restrict it even moreso, but she needs to go potty and that requires some walking for her. I don't know what to do. I can be a very good nurse for other things, but I'm totally out of my element with this leg injury.

In fact, Kacee's injury sounds just like what Max is doing.

Let's see what the vet says tomorrow. I'm sure the injuries are different but my vet was very adamant about no movement.

I don't have any wise words for you...but I can say, as hard as it is to keep them confined...sometimes it's a must. I know you will do what the doc tells you for your girl and her comfort. Sending prayers she gets fully recovered soon. It's stressful and heartbreaking for you, I know.

I know with Zhoie...it was the hardest thing to look at her sweet face and not give in...especially when she wanted back in the big bed sooo bad.

I suppose it couldn't hurt. What does she have now? My boys have this one Amazon.com: Best Pet Folding Play Pen - Medium -... We have it in orange and honestly i don't know what size we have. Possibly a medium and it's quite large! It might be good to get one just to have on hand.

She doesn't have anything now. I gave away the one I had when she was a puppy. She has had free run because she was housebroken very early.

Karen, I am so sorry to hear that Kacee's leg is still giving her a little trouble. How was your visit with the vet today?

I pray Kacee can get back to all of her activities without having to go through a period of total confinement/restriction of activity or a procedure first.

I have this one also in a size medium. It is large enough to put her pee pad, food and bed in, and she still has plenty of room. I take it with me when I visit our son. It folds up and stores easily.

I hope Kacee is on the mend really soon. Please let us know what the vet says today.

She thinks she has a torn miniscus and we have been given a referral to a clinic in Overland Park (Kansas City). I have left a message and the surgery coordinator will call me back Monday. If she hasn't called back by 11, then I'm to call. That is all I know so far.

Karen, I am so sorry to hear this. I know Kacee will be fine, but I just wish she didn't have more to go through to get there. It is so hard to limit the activity of an active doggy like Kacee. The two of you are in my prayers.
