| Ha-ha! Griswold! Well, I'm glad it wasn't any worse than it was. I guess it was bad enough though. Bet you'll be doubly glad when the weekend arrives!

| Oh I'm really looking forward to the weekend! I got a call from the college vet today and the results of Layla's culture are in. There is one type of bacteria that is a little sensitive to the antibiotic but not completely sensitive... a little bit is not being killed off. So she is being put on a new antibiotic that will for sure get rid of everything. She will have another culture in a week to make sure the new antibiotics are working well, and we have a 6 week prescription. My fingers are crossed that this will work out!!!

| I hope things are getting better with Layla. She is in our thoughts and prayer. The poor little thing has been through so much in her life.

| Lindsey, Just seeing this thread because I was away on vacation. I am so sorry that you have been dealing with these issues with Layla. I think you did the right thing going to the college vet as well. Especially because they know Layla's history. I hope you are feeling better also. Kisses to Layla from us. I hope you have a nice long relaxing weekend.

| I just saw this thread and I am so relived to hear that Layla is doing better. I hope you are feeling better and your troubles ease. I know Layla could not have two better loving parents than you and Scott. Best Wishes.

| Thank you guys! I am feeling much better and Layla is doing well with her new antibiotics. The lucky girl has no idea why she is all of a sudden getting a tiny little ball of salami 3 times a day, but I'm sure she doesn't want it to stop lol! Yesterday we found out just how badly we're being ripped off by our local vet We went in to pay for the stitches, forgetting that the "ruptured bladder" night she also rushed us in for x-rays. We didn't even see her that night, she just took Layla straight to the back for x-rays and came to tell us she didn't see anything, but we could come back later and she'd try again. I should mention, this isn't the first itme she's wanted to do x-rays. When Layla was overflowing constantly, she wanted to do x-rays then too but we said no. Anyways, the stitches weren't so bad, just $80 or something. Two x-rays, however, was around $150 After we left the vet's office, we got the mail and had a bill from the college. Scott was dreading this one because it was for the urine culture and when we had that done last time through our vet, it was around $180. I opened the bill and the culture and sensitivity was about $70. We were FLOORED. When we went through our local vet, she warned us the culture and sensitivity would be quite expensive, so she wasn't sure if we wanted to go ahead with it. She said for the best results, she'll write the requisition and give us the sample bottle, and we should take the sample ourselves, drive it to the lab at the university ourselves so it is looked at immediately, and she would give us the results when they were in. She got the results and told us the results and charged us $100 more than they charge to just have it done at the college to begin with!!!! Like Scott said, we came and saw her for the very first time with a dog with a sore arched back who was losing control of her back legs... she must have looked at us with dollar signs in her eyes

| Yes we will not be going back, especially for any sort of testing. I would rather drive her in. I guess we are way too trusting. The sitter is not even coming over daily. How do we know? Well, our deck door is really hard to lock. I have told her to not worry about it, she can unlock it when she lets the dogs out, and then just leave it. It was always unlocked when we got home. Tuesday, we just had Lucy and Kash at home but I told her to just come let them out and I'd still pay her the full rate. She said no problem. We got home and the deck door was locked, and there was a poop by the door. I thought it was odd but okay. Wednesday we got home and there was no pee on Layla's pad. I texted her and asked if she had troubles and she said "Oh I forgot to text you, I had to pick up my sister from the hospital so I had to come over at 11 and it was too early to get any pee out" so I said okay. Oh, and the door was locked. Today I didn't hear anything from her so I texted her from work at around 3. She said "Sorry I had to go early again because I had to take my sister to physio. I will be there later tomorrow and that's when I have the most luck with Layla!" Now I'm starting to get suspicious. We got home and the door was locked again. Scott walked to the front door and said "She didn't even come" ... he put a draft stopper perpendicular to the door this morning and it hadn't moved. He showed me that when he opens the door, the stopper bends and crinkles up and stays there. She only has a key to that door, so she didn't come in anywhere else. I am so angry because she is LYING about it!!! I told her if she ever can't come over, let me know and I will work from home. I am so annoyed!!!

| There's probably a very very tiny chance she'd be from the same place as me, we're just in a tiny town in Saskatchewan But thanks for wanting to help! After talking it out I decided to just be truthful now so I texted her and said "Did you actually come over today? There was a draft stopper at the front door and it hasn't moved..." and she hasn't replied yet. Scott wanted me to just not write her a cheque, saying "sorry I forgot" and then have her come over for it on Sunday but instead of giving her money, just tell her we know she hasn't been coming over and get our key back. I don't want to be a jerk like that about it. I'm a little worried that she might be angry because she does have our key and we don't know where she lives.

Funny, the girl hasn't texted back at all. Maybe I'll be saving all my money this week!

| Glad you got the results back and Layla will be ok. Boy! I'm sorry the vet was such a rip-off jerk! I hope you're able to find someone reliable to help with the doggies. It's so hard to find someone like that now.
