| Trouble with PeePee-ing after spay? Well, I picked Holly up this morning from the vet. She was spayed yesterday and they said she was still out of it and for me to just leave her until today. I brought her home and she was starving. She ate and drank like it was her first and last meal ever! She has squatted 5 times to pee but nothing comes out. the vet office said that sometimes there is irritation and to wait a while and see. It worries me though! Has anyone else experienced this? |

| Considering spaying is major abdominal surgery, and she was fasted and didn't eat the whole day, it may take some time for enough pee to build up, especially if she's a bit dehydrated from the fasting. Keep in touch with your vet, as he/she is also responsible for her recovery, and follow your discharge instructions. Check her privates for dried blood, a small amout is nothing to worry about but should be cleaned off with a warm, wet cotton ball, which may help her to pee also.

| I agree, with it being a major surgery she may just be do that because she's uncomfortable down there and simply think peeing will cure it. But let your vet know and keep an eye on her. Keep us updated!

| Well, we are on day 3 and she still squats at times to pee and nothing comes out. She drips pee around the house and sometimes it's red tinted as if there is blood mixed in it. She will pee normally several times a day but mostly it is little drops. Is this normal? |
