| I reported reply #27, the one where the woman said my puppy would "suffer, then die", and it looks like the moderator has deleted it. This particular comment was extreme. It doesn't help anyone (including yourself!) to be mean. The forum should be used to give advice, share similar experiences, and encourage people on how to care for their Yorkie. |

I am glad to hear your baby is doing well...please don't let some of the harsh posts you recieved on this forum dissuade you from posting on here or visitng the site! There are many amazing people on here with a lot of good advice. Everyone on this forum loves their dog(s) sooo very much, and some just get really concerned and it can come out as judgmental..you just have to learn to ignore it even though it can be hurtful. But what I can say is that each and every one of us on here love our furbabies and care about each other's babies as well, and want to see the very best for every dog out there. | |

| If I called my vet and told him my baby fell 6 feet and he didn't insist on an exam, I would call another vet.

| I'm glad to hear that Chipper is doing well. You are very fortunate! Many yorkies suffer serious injuries from falls much lower in height.

| So glad to see he is doing well after such a fall! Thank you for the update. I think you may find that when something like this is posted and then there is a long pause before an update from the OP that people get antsy. They are concerned for the pup and wonder if there has been no update because as is often the case the OP doesn't care for the advise given and then posts start to get more and more heated. The people here really are passionate about not only their own pets but the health and welfare of other's pets. I do hope you can understand and do keep coming back as it really is a wonderful place to learn and share as you raise your little one.

| OP, I was so very glad to read your update that Chipper is doing well. I agree that even now, he should be taken to the vet for a once-over, just to be sure. These babies can be tricky. Please don't stop posting or reading YT - there is extremely valuable information here, and since you have such a young little guy, you will NEED the advice and support of these expert, compassionate members more than you think. So for the sake of your little Chipper, please thicken your skin and join in with ANY questions or concerns you have. The primary concern of YT members is always for the best interest of the furbabies.

| I'm very sorry you feel that way please by all means put me on ignore...but please stay and learn. Glad he lives! Glad he is okay and not suffering! Glad you now know to rush to the vet...not the pc or even the phone. It's not what happens, it's what you do about it... I'm curious though about the vet's reaction being so lackadaisical what vet did you call? What vet would advise you note glassy eyes-if you have a healthy puppy the eyes should be glassy. I think you should consider another vet who is more proactive in emergency care and want to actually see the pup after a life threatening injury. Perhaps a member here can give you a referral to a reputable small breed vet in your area. "Trolled": when we are told an imaginary story meant to cause unrest and emotionally upset members just so when the right sort of response #27 MINE is given we can all be called rude etc. Then some hiss about never posting on here again.... This may not be the case here but that's the pattern. At least this time they kept it just at me. I'm okay with that. If you are not please by all means ignore me and stay, learn, read. There was no judgement on the individual but on the choices of the individual in this situation in their own chosen words. Plus my obvious initial feelings this was a "trolled" thread, nevertheless appearing in any Google. Yes, I could have just said, take you pup to the vet immediately. However I prefer raw, reality at times I think it's the only thing that get through to some people. Sorry I don't candy coat, especially at the expense of a puppy's well being. Amazing to me is how people get so offended by my words (look for your pup to possibly suffer and then die if you fail to seek medical attention for it) but not the care of a helpless animal being postponed for internet research while the pup is appearing, dazed & paralyzed.

| Glad your baby is ok. In the future if your baby has a fall or hits his head hard enough to cause those symptoms no matter how long or short they may be, you need to consider it an emergency. These types of accidents can & often do cause swelling in the brain that can later cause scarring which can cause life long seizures and/or death. Only a vet can tell if there is swelling in the brain & prescribe the proper anti-inflammatory. If this were my dog I would still go to the vet for a check up as in my opinion, he's not out of the woods just yet. |
