Linda, God bless you for taking care of this sweet baby. I can not imagine the pain she is in but is still wagging her tail, people can be so cruel and I hope they suffer the way this baby has. Prayers and Hugs to you and Summer for a complete recovery. |
OMG I am just sick over what this baby has had to endure. Thank God she is now getting care and the love she needs. My heart just hurt's for her. I know she will thrive with your care Linda. Please keep us updated. |
Those pictures brought tears to my eyes. Thank God that Summer is now in the hands of people who will protect and love her. I will pray for her recovery. |
poor little thing..:(....sending her lots of prayers.. hope she heals quickly. |
I have not yet heard from the vet this morning; but I spoke with one of the techs. Summer is alert and wagging her tail at anyone who talks to her. :) I did ask about her heartworm test and found out that it is negative! |
That poor little furbaby! the first picture breaks my heart! How can ANYONE let an animal stay like that...The pain the poor little thing must be in....You can tell they are older wounds....What if this happened to a child? would they have let it go this far!! Some people just shouldn't have animals...kind of makes you wonder how they treat their children |
I just spoke with the vet and they are not going to do anything today with that wound. Her labs are back and her white blood count is extremely high and toxicity is noted; so they have added a second antibiotic. She is now on Clavamox and Zenaquing to cover both gram neg and pos bacteria. Her blood sugar is very low so they force fed her this morning...and she is still licking at the food a bit. My vet is off today and the vet on today feels that they are on the right track with her. I had asked about a specialist but they feel that she is fine where she is. I know them well enough to know that if they had any doubt about what they were doing, they would refer her out. Oh, and she had a bit of a cough this morning. He was happy about that as it will help her to clear that lung out. I am just horrified that this poor thing was left that way for so long. I do think it was longer than the three days the person who surrendered her claimed....but I will never know for sure. Really does not matter....we just have to deal with what we have now. |
So glad this poor baby is receiving the treatment she needs....Thank you Ladyjane:):):) |

She may very well have been left this way longer than that....although I don't know how long a pup could survive with such infection. She really is a mess. :( I cannot fathom leaving a pup like that. Makes me sick. Yep....I am also very upset about how humans treat the poor defenseless animals (and children and the elderly)....for the life of me I just do not understand. |
