| Yay Jackson! Brit, is Jackson on any meds? Kaji's poops have been extra foul since he started taking meds last week. It makes cleaning up after him all that more unpleasant.

| LOL yay to good poop and for all of us celebrating!! And yes ^^ he's on 3 different meds! I hope I am going to be able to find a chew for him of some sort. I know right now pretty much everything is out at first. But he is just so restless and bored. He's used to chewing a bully stick almost every night (but he never finished a whole one every night) and that's our 'relax' time. He has been finding anything he can put his mouth on... he did find a bully stick he must have buried somewhere but he did not get a chance to even take one bite into it (believe me I am watching him like a hawk) before I took it away from him. I felt terrible, really terrible lol. His whole routine is changed and I know he will get used to it but it's just different.

| Looking at a few different foods. It seems a lot of the senior formulas would be potentially suitable. But this is just me browsing right now. Blue Buffalo Senior - Blue Buffalo - Senior Dogs All Natural Dog Food NB Reduced Calorie - Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Original Ultra Reduced Calorie Formula for Dogs Artemis Weight Mgt. - Artemis - Holistic Approach to Pet Food (this is lowest fat I've found - 6%)

| Good plan to ask the vet. They will tell you what the most appropriate chew for Jackson is. In a couple-few weeks, he should be able to have something. That something may be something less interesting like Nylabone though. Personally wouldn't give bullies to a healthy Yorkie let alone a sick one, but that's JMO.

| Britt, while you are researching foods, I wonder if Natural Balance vegetarian might be good for this condition. I used it for Tiki when we were trying to deal with her liver issues, as it is low protein (all from veg. source.) I was eventually able to move her over to NB Ultra Original. Maybe frozen green beans would work for a treat/chewing thing? Crystal, I was thinking of Nylabone for chewing too. My doggies have never had bully sticks either, I feel like you do about them haha....

I am pretty certain I'm not willing to take the risk of bully sticks. But like I said, will ask the vet. He hates most Nylabone stuff. The only kind he likes to chew is the flexi kind but I am so paranoid about the little pieces he gets off them. It makes me feel like I'm just letting him eat plastic. lol Quote:

| Another question... for those of you with dogs that have dealt w/ pancreatitis... I often see cheerios, yogurt and those kids Gerber Puffs things talked about. Are these what you'd consider some appropriate treats for Jackson? Because he does like Cheerios every now and then when I eat them so I think I could get him to really like them. How much yogurt (plain non fat) do you think would be acceptable when he's back to "normal" for the most part, if he can have this? I filled a puppy Kong (he has one of the smallest ones, blue tie-die looking puppy one) with his RX canned food and put in the freezer tonight. Gonna ask the vet tomorrow how much is appropriate. Just looking for things for him to chew in the time being.

| I would not feed bully sticks to a dog with a history of acute pancreatitis.
