Kaji might have a cold

I'm updating on Kaji and I am looking for a bit of advice. We're finishing up day 5 of meds for Kaji. He is sleeping through the night again. But, he still does the weezing from time to time. We have 2 days of meds more. Should he be all better by now?

I dont know about ALL better but if it were me,I would call the vet and enquire. Your vet may want to perscribe something for the wheezing (an expectorant of some kind) or extend the antibiotics.

I am not sure... if he was still wheezing, I think I'd be a little concerned.

But I am glad, for the most part, he's feeling back to normal!

Me too! It's scary when my porky yorkie refuses food. he hasn't skipped a meal since, and is sleeping through the night again. Big improvements. He weeding comes from being congested still. I'm going to finish up the meds, and then call the vet. He could get all better in two more days, right?

I agree, finish up the meds and see how he is doing in 2 days. If he is still wheezing, go back to the doc.

You said it is more intermittent now? I hope that is a sign that the congestion is clearing up and that the wheezing will stop altogether soon.

I will wait. That's hard, I want him to be all better. He acts better; he's bouncy, perky, and a complete spazz.

So glad to hear he is acting more like himself. I would keep an eye on him and call the vet if needed once he finishes his meds. Sending prayers and hugs!

Not today, at least not yet. He's a little bummed though. We had to say goodbye to my boyfriend last night. Silly pup didn't want to leave. I finished my summer course so I'm sticking to him like glue. I wonder if it's a bad idea to go have him groomed. He matted his rear being a naughty boy at boyfriend's house.

I wouldn't go to the groomer yet, because I like to keep variables to a minimum when trying to solve a problem. Variable in that case being possible exposure to germs or other dogs with colds.

What do you mean by say goodbye to boyfriend? Is he going somewhere or is it worse?

Hopefully more time with mommy and extra TLC will help Kaji get rid of the last of his congestion.

Matted his rear, that sounds like a fun job. I wouldn't want him around a lot of dogs, just in case he's more vulerable right now, but I really don't know. Can you find a private groomer? Or learn to do it yourself. I bought one of those matting combs, but never have used it, it does't look that difficult though.

My boyfriend is going to school in south America. So we went to say bye and to wish him a safe trip back. He was only here to visit for the month of July. School starts back up in Aug.

I will clean Kaji up today, but he really needs a haircut. It's to that length where his softcoat matts like crazy. When I brush him, I find myself doing a lot of cutting. his thick hair broke my cheap clippers I had for him.
