And Steve, know that many of us understand what you are going through right now, and that you need to do whatever you feel will help you and your family get through this horrible ordeal. Know in your heart that you truly will be missed, and that we will be praying and/or sending positive thoughts for you and your family to heal and recover from this tragedy. I am praying and sending Hugs and Love to you and yours, your pups, and even your brother in law, and especially for your Dear Marge and her parents. And a suggestion: Have folks sit down on a couch or sofa before handing the pupster over. Hopefully not, but there are many times when our little ones must be handled and/or cared for by others, and it would be better to aclimate them to this, should the need arise. My own little girl flew out of my arms the 4th day we had her. My DH sneezed as he followed me out of the bedroom one morning, and it scared her almost to death! I was so lucky that she wasn't hurt. I couldn't believe she got away from me, as I have owned and handled Yorkies and other small dogs for over 30 years! I have heard of pups doing this and breaking their necks, backs, and legs.

| I'm just now seeing this and cried over the original post. I don't have words to properly express how horrified I am over the home invasion and how absolutely tragic it was to have Basil hurt at the same time. Steve, we don't know each other, but I am so very sorry that this all happened and am sending lots of prayers and love your way. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | So glad that no one has permanent injuries, I think it would be so hard to keep Joey in a crate for a month. I know that dogs that grow up in crates don't mind it, but once they've tasted freedom, it must be so difficult for them to adjust to the crate again, but it's probably harder on us then them. Sending prayers your way Steve.

| Steve, I am just now reading this. It is horrible what those scumbags did to your in-laws. I pray they are caught and justice is served. I am very happy to hear that Basil is doing better. I know how much it must of hurt you seeing your baby hurt like that. I always tell people that these accidents can happen at the blink of an eye, just when you least expect it. I know you probably need some time to take care of your family and babies but don't forget that you have many friends here that care about you too and we will be praying for you, your family and Basil. Hang in there.

| I have not given up on Yorkie Talk. How could I with all the great, caring people here. Just not going to post as much as I am spending time with Basil, to be near him as he is in his X-Pen and I keep him company. He had a good day. Ate well, slept well, no pain, and I am surprised on how well he adapted to "3" legs when outside on the leash for him to go. We have a plastic Boot what goes over the cast....to keep it clean and dry. ALready have an apointment set up for him Next Friday, 4/1, and then an X-Ray on 4/8. He will get another Exam on 4/15, an X-Ray on 4/22, and hopefully the cast will be removed then, and perhaps replaced with a soft Cast. Thanks so much for all the good wishes and keeping my spirits from going down any more. Breaks my heart to see the little guy like this. I wish it was my leg instead of his. We are convinced he will be back to 100% in 6 months. He also has quite long legs. Compared to Maxine, who has short little think ones. You all have a great evening, and week. |
