| Checking to see how you and Princess Chloe are doing....hoping you were able to get an appointment today at UC Davis. I would be concerned if my neurologist didn't have all the equipment necessary at his office (the MRI) I think you are smart to seek out a second opinion especially given that you are getting that nagging feeling that something isn't right with the first specialist. Sending lots of prayers and hugs to both of you.

Nothing happened to this pup. She has a congenital problem that was not apparent until after the spay. I imagine it had to do with the positioning when she was intubated....that probably made her pain come about but certainly did not cause the condition.

| Of course it could be due to trauma....it will depend upon the results of the MRI .. if there is a missing ligament or not. But, the diagnosis is the same and they don't need to see the screaming.

I am sure that UC Davis will get a firm diagnosis from their testing.

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi Everyone: We've been very busy getting medical evaluations for Princess Chloe who was confirmed to have AAI by the SPCA, San Francisco Veterinary Specialist Hospital, and UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. To make a long story short UC Davis placed a brace around Princess Chloe's neck which has to be changed every week for three months until her vertabrae bones are fully developed to do surgery. Yesterday and today we've been at UC Davis, and they full did an evaluation (the entire neuro department faculty), and today more blood test, ultrasound and next week we will get the results. Princess has developed some strange itching around her whiskers and nose, so next tuesday we have an appointment at UC Davis dermatology department to see if she's developed some sort of allergy. But thank God, things are working out. God has place some angels in my path who have lifted us up and supported us in this journey. God bless all of our furbabies, may He give them all long healthy lives.... Thank you all!! |

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you KJ for your concern and comment. I have the microwaveable dish set of Cesar Millan. Their made out of this rigit plastic, I'll make sure to take it with me during her appointment with dermatology at UC Davis this upcoming Tuesday. In the meantime I've been feeding her by hand, she doesn't want to eat since she's had so much diarrhea. Thanks again for your reply. Naomi |

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Mary (Yorkie In Common) I've been so overwhelmed that I forgot to thank you for the idea of taking a video of Princess episodes to the vet. You don't know how much this really helped the vets. to see her episodes and help them in their evaluation. UC Davis was very impressed, they also had the Xray we had the SPCA take of Princess Chloe during the evaluation. Many thanks again!!!! Princess Chloe and Mami Naomi |

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi Everyone! Thank you Sammy Mommy for your comment and prayers! We were able to get the date of Princess Chloe's surgery and it is for 7/11. The reason it so far into the year is that they want her vertabrae bones to be fully grown, and of course there is a vet. conference going on and the majority of the neurosurgents will be gone the month of June. We had to remove Princess Chloe's neck brace last night she couldn't breathe, and she woke up in the early AM with pain eventhou we had given her her meds two hours before. I guess it was the absence of the neck brace and she just hurt herself while asleep. Anyway, she slept in my arm until around 3am and I was able to put her into her kennel to sleep. One of our angels told me about a suggestion that her vet had given her of using a styrofoam cup cut down the middle as a neck bracer. So we measured the styrofoam cup again the old neck bracer and it seem to have done the trip. When we got to UC Davis to have it changed the doctors took her away and 5 mins. later they returned with Princess Chloe and her styrofoam neck bracer. LOL The loved the idea and said it would do the trick, they took lots of pictures and sent us home. Well, there's just one question I need to have you all give me advice. Princess Chloe's pain med. has a bitter after taste to it and we have to struggle with her to take it. I'm concerned that we may hurt her if we force it on her. We've tried giving her baby food after to remove the bitter taste, Nutri cal to neutralize the bitter after taste too. Med is Tramadol. Does anyone have any recommendations????? Well, that's all for now, Princess Chloe send kisses/licks and Me many thanks to all. |
