I just don't follow how after you waited two years to do something about the shunt that it is now the surgeon's fault? I mean...you said once that you were waiting and doing your own research, but now it was your vet I think you are saying?. Irregardless of who it was that chose to not do anything about it for so long, I am just not following the point of blaming a surgeon. I am not defending him/her either..just trying to wrap my brain around all of this. And, if ultrasound is not 100% I am sure your vet is aware of that fact. I would think that if the surgeon was IN there, he/she should know for a fact how many shunts there were? Just confused and not following this whole thing is all.

| KJC you seem like such a dissatisfied consumer. Make a complaint to the hospital and insist to have a sit down with the surgeon. At least start with all the information and ask all your questions. If you don't like what you learn about the care of your dog, seek out the services of a lawyer who can help you with options. I know our state has a complaint process for consumers where one can file a veterinary complaint with the state veterinary board to have the actions peer reviewed. Be sure to tell your lawyer that your vet seems to be on all fours with you about this matter as that may be useful to bolster your concerns/case. I'd like to see you get to the bottom of this for Tink.

I did do a lot of 'research', and discussed everything I found with my vets. I did request additional tests to be done as a result of my research, that were done in addition to her regular bloodwork that was being done to monitor her condition. Quote:
I am not blaming anyone, I just want to know what is going on with my dog.

| Kathy, I don't know anything about LS and don't understand most of what's being said here - but I do hope you find the answers you're looking for soon. Hugs for you and Tink, Bonny

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm not sure if you've already tried this, but what about Simplicef? It treats both gram-negative and gram-positive organisms - and is often used as a subsequent Antibio when Clavamox is ineffective. It sounds like you may have some resistance developing. If used after Clava, it's often given for 30 days. Sending healing thoughts !
