Sorry for the rambling, I just need to get to the bottom of this for my baby girl...Thanks, again, to everyone that is praying for her...God listens, I just know He does!

I so hope you get this figured out. We tried everything...the SUb Q fluids, IV's, Cerenia, keeping him inside so he wouldn't nibble anything in the yard, no treats, different antibiotics, different diets, etc. - we just did not try them in the right combination, long enough, etc. I'm certainly not suggesting this is the same problem that Apple is having, just our experience and what helped us. We all each know our babies are different and how trying all of this can be - besides the immense expense it is. And...it always seemed to happen to us on the weekends, too. Driving to A&M was less than 1 emergency visit and it has seemed to solve our problem (fingers crossed!)...good luck to you!

Your post makes so much sense, especially, since you live in Texas too...She's had two major events, both on Sunday!!! I'll be asking her vet for a referral to A&M if this happens, even, just one more time! I've been talking to lin (ladyjane) on the phone, and she's all about A&M too...Just haven't figured out who's gonna walk my mid days, if I have to make a road trip? I've got a rottweiler, that took me a week, to be able to put a harness on, before I could walk her (she growled at me) and haven't broken anyone in, to care for her...Btw, she licks my face now, when I walk in now...I need to get on this too...

Well I've got to tell you, I've been to A&M several times with different dogs and this last time it was ALL day long. We did not get home until about 8:00pm and had not planned on it taking that long, so it was a surprise...it ususally takes 5-6 hrs, but this time they were really backed up. My vet also wanted me to see a specific Dr while there whom I thought was wonderful - Dr Willard. I have to agree with her, he was GREAT. Of course I think that because he figured out the problem! They are all so kind there, too.

I, like you, love A&M and have never had a bad experience.

I see a dermatologist at Gulf Coast that we like..it's very convenient, but so expensive! I took my little female to Dr Tobias at University of TN for her liver shunt and it was less espensive (hotel and air included) than going 5 minutes from my house to Gulf Coast!

I am glad Apple's numbers are better. I will keep her in my prayers. Cali had HGE, of course it started on a Sunday. I took her to the ER vet and they just gave her some medicine and IV fluids. They did not say HGE. By Tuesday she was still sick. I took her to my vet who diagnosed HGE with a PVC ? test. They kept her all day on IV fluids and I brought her home at night. They left her iv port in and had me bring her back each day and leave her so they could hook her up to the IV's. After 3 days of this she was much better. She had another episode a month or so later but I caught it even before the bloody stools started. I saw the same look in her eyes as when she had the HGE and took her right in. The vet took her temp and out came blood. They started her on medicine and SQ fluids and she never got worse. I thought maybe she was getting sick from the cow hooves they liked to chew on so I threw them all out and Thank God we haven't had any further episodes. I hope Apple will continue to improve and not need further treatment.

Much as I hate to admit it, I'm wondering if this last batch of bully sticks has a problem?....I've taken them all up, and we're not doing bully sticks, anymore...Don't know what we're going to do to replace them (all three of mine are seriously addicted), but I'm not taking any chances w/any kind of possible bacteria...

You could try the himalayan chews that Ryan sells. I like them as much as the bully sticks. They are made of hard cheese, pretty gentle on their systems I may add.I have trouble with bully sticks, if I don't buy them on Yt.

Sending prayers and healing thoughts for poor Apple. I hope you figure out what treatment is the best course of action and she feels better soon. I wish I could send you strength to get through these difficult days. Sending prayers for wisdom and insight for the Vets who are diagnosing and treating her. It is so devastating when they are sick.
