I am glad Apple's numbers are better. I will keep her in my prayers. Cali had HGE, of course it started on a Sunday. I took her to the ER vet and they just gave her some medicine and IV fluids. They did not say HGE. By Tuesday she was still sick. I took her to my vet who diagnosed HGE with a PVC ? test. They kept her all day on IV fluids and I brought her home at night. They left her iv port in and had me bring her back each day and leave her so they could hook her up to the IV's. After 3 days of this she was much better. She had another episode a month or so later but I caught it even before the bloody stools started. I saw the same look in her eyes as when she had the HGE and took her right in. The vet took her temp and out came blood. They started her on medicine and SQ fluids and she never got worse. I thought maybe she was getting sick from the cow hooves they liked to chew on so I threw them all out and Thank God we haven't had any further episodes. I hope Apple will continue to improve and not need further treatment. |
