Fervent prayers needed for Apple

Hoping Apple is feeling better today. It is so scary and stressful when our babies are sick. To us and them!!! hugs to you both.

He also gets a Vit B 12 shot weekly....it has worked. We are supposed to check in with the A&M vet next week and will see if they will continue this course, but I will tell you prior to this, I had one sick little baby. We had the bloody, mucusy stools and vomiting...his episodes were becoming more and more frequent. He is now perfectly fine and doing great...and he loves his new food! They gave me a list of 2-3 to try, but the RC HP he liked. I guess it was all just a severe food alergy that had the bacteria growing and building up in his gut, if that makes sense. My local vet admitted it all made sense, she never thought about it becasue it was so simple...I have no idea if this can be the case with Apple, but I thought I'd throw it out there "just in case" - my prayers are with you and your baby...

I have found that going to a vet that is associated with a university or to a university with a Pet Hospital is the best and ultimately the least expensive way to handle illnesses like this one. I recently went through 4 vets trying to keep 2 little yorkies alive and they would have died if I had not found a specialist. Good Luck and our prayers and support are with you.

Thanks Viv...she had a really nice poopie this a.m., so things are looking up, Praise God! And I really do give Him all the glory! I'm sure prayer gets us to the right doctors w/the right advice and meds, for a recovery for our babies...I'm, also, sure Apple is doing so well now, w/all the prayers from the YT mamas and papas...I'm blessed to be a part of this site

This made me laugh a little...isn't it funny how we get so excited when they have a normal "poop". My husband has learned to never pick them up off the pads until I see them because I ask too many questions about it! I was recently out of town for the weekend and when I would call home, he would patiently describe to me how they looked. My sister, who has no dogs, thought I was nuts! I am so happy that Apple is doing better!

And your post made me laugh...Honestly, when I flushed the toilet, I was thinking "wow, I should have taken a picture of that, first, and sent it in a text/picture to my friend"...Not because I'm weird, but to show her how well Apple is doing lol...Yes, it's all about what goes in and what comes out, and how they feel inbetween lolol...btw, you've got a really wonderful hubby!

Well you are now going to have a reason to think I am nuts...I did take pictures! But only during his bad episodes. I was afraid that I could not adequately describe how the mucus and blood looked, so I took pictures and showed them to my vet and to the vets at A&M. What I thought looked like so much blood, and looked like my baby had been shot - obviously did not look so horrible to them. They said some babies had bled so much worse, and also the color of the blood gave them some indication of where the bleeding was...upper GI vs lower GI, or something like that. Anyway, it's not always such a crazy idea after all!
