| Prayers for BamBam I'm a complete wreck. At 9pm last evening I noticed my 16 week old little guy was struggling to breathe and slipping in and out of consciousness. I rushed him to an emergency clinic where I was told his lungs have filled almost entirely with fluid. They wanted $2500 up front to treat him, which I couldn't afford. They sent us home and told us he had about 15% chance to live through the night and they would be surprised if he made it more than two hours or so. We stayed up with him all night and as the hours ticked by he seemed to slightly improve. At about midday I noticed he was starting to fade again, his gums were turning grayish. I knew I had to get him to a vet or he would surely die. Up to that point I thought it might be possibly for him to pull through here at home, he was sure putting up a good fight. After calling nearly 50 vets in the area I found one clinic that would accept him and generously offered to accept payments. He's been at the clinic since 1pm on oxygen and multiple medicines. He's responding slightly to treatments. Poor little guy can hardly lift his head and is exceptionally weak at this point. Once again this vet expressed how surprised she was that he was alive when we brought him in and just how strong his spirit is. Please help me in praying for my little Bam Bam. He's come so far, and fought so hard. My heart is breaking in two. I know there is nothing more I can do for him but I can't believe he'd struggle this far only to lose his battle in the end. |

| Did you contact his breeder? Is there a health guarantee for BamBam? Did the vet say the reason that he has pneumonia? Please keep up posted on how he is doing. Poor little guy sounds like he's a fighter.

We don't have a confirmed diagnosis as they have been trying to stabilize him before running a too many tests. The first vet was pretty sure, after looking at xrays, that it is not pneumonia and most likely not the heart. The second vet isn't so sure that it is not pneumonia and is treating for it just in case. She also does not believe it is the heart. She is leaning more toward anaphylactic shock. The most confusing part of all is not even 30 minutes before all of this started he was running around, happy as can be, playing and jumping around like his normal little self. | |

| Update I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up too high but he's made a decent amount of progress. I spoke with the clinic 30 minutes ago. At 5p he was barely able to lift his head or move much and was unable to drink or eat by himself. Here it is 6 hours later and BamBam is sitting up and able to walk around a little. His breathing is still too fast but not as labored. He's been able to eat a decent meal on his own and he's been drinking a ton of water. The vet is hopeful and optimistic, but still cautious. If BamBam keeps progressing at this rate he could potentially come off oxygen by mid morning and they will start doing some tests to hopefully find some answers. I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, hopefully my little miracle pulls through! |

| I'm just seeing this thread and I will pray for Bam Bam. Bless his little heart! How scary for you and it's so scary to hear how he went from being fine to critical in the blink of an eye. I'm glad he's a little fighter! I hope to see good news on your next update. Hugs to you!
