| Thanks again everyone. We survived our first night home and are moving steadily into the second. The first night was really hard on me, but BamBam seemed happy to be home and content to sleep 85% of the time. He's doing exceptionally well. He had a little wheeze that is completely gone at this point. I'm concerned about his little ears. They were standing up for quite awhile before this happened and now they are slumped completely down. Has anyone experienced a sudden limpness in the ears after major illness in their little one? I'm concerned that the oxygen deprivation may have caused some permanent damage? I'm not terribly worried about the actual look of his ears, they are really cute floppy. My line of thought is if his ears are damaged, what else? I want to be as prepared for his future as I possibly can be. I am going to call my vet in the morning with my concerns, but these thoughts keep swirling in my brain and are making it rather difficult to sleep! |

| It's such a joy to read of his continued improvement. I really do believe it makes a huge difference for him to be home once he's feeling better, because it is so much less stressful. I'm sure his ears will pop up again when he's been recovered for awhile.

Senior Yorkie Talker | So pleased that BamBam is at home with you and dh and on the road to recovery! Many years ago I had a yorkie whose ears were strait up to the moon at 6 months, after his neuter they both flopped down, within a month they were up again.Gee, what a memory. This was in the late 70's. Sorry I got of track. The vet thought he was a little stressed and that his ears would go back up,I think BamBams will too! Poor guy went thru alot this week. |

| Just finished reading your orginal post and so very happy that Bam-bam is getting better. They can put up a good fight can't they? There was so many times that my vet said Heidi was not going to make it after being diagnosed with acute renal failure at age 14 1/2 but she suprised us all. With alot of care from me and the vet she made it to 18 yrs old. A few weeks before I lost her she didn't want to eat and just lost what I felt was her will to live. On the day that I had to make that horrible decision it took them three sticks to stop her little heart. I think she was fighting so hard even then. I'm so glad for your wonderful outcome and my prayers are with everyone. |

| I strongly believe that being home with his loving family is the best medicine of all. My vet always preferred my little girls to stay home with us unless there was no other option, and they did get better much quicker. The same is true for people, too. I am so happy that your precious little boy is getting better. He must be so thrilled with his life with you, and love having you and your husband as his parents. You picked a perfect name for him, because he is such a cute, little fighter.
