| Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank Goodness Birdie and the babies are stable now! did you make and offer Birdie whelping pudding after the birth? Are the pups suckling on their own? Is Birdie eating a high grade puppy food? I have read your entire thread and am a bit confused. Thought Birdie was a shih-poo and you also had a female yorkie-poo. Welcome to YT. Best of luck with hopefully your last litter! Please keep us updated! |

| Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Glad the pups delivered safely. Now that they are here, make sure you have familiarized yourself with the signs of eclampsia in dogs. A late sign can be a seizure- definitely something you want to avoid, as it would make the differential diagnosis for her initial seizure much harder.

So I guess each dog had at least some yorkie in them. Since there are no registration papers for mixed breeds, you never know what is really in them. I have seen people call them yorkiepoos and shorkies when they may have been several generations of mixes and not just the result of two purebred dogs. So, it is no wonder the pups do not look like yorkies. I always hope none of the mixes look like yorkies so noone ends up selling them as purebreds down the line. Not meaning this poster.

| Debrah Mom and babies are all still doing well. I have to be very clear that this was never susposed to happen. Bird should have been fixed a long time ago. And that is my fault. These puppies are to be given away free on a spay nuter contract - OR I may keep them till they can be fixed and sell them at the price I paid to get them fixed... How do I ensure they are fixed if they sign a contract??? I was thinking about the colors the other day and I guess there is white poodles??? Maybe that's where the white comes from. If I did get into breeding it wouldn't be for a long long time I have my yorkie baby and 2 great danes (my danes are fixed thank god) I got VERY lucky too because my female started early and my male hadn't been fixed yet. She is a big dog I noticed the blood right away and got my male into the vet with in two days. After her period she was next... I stayed with her the whole time praying nothing would get to her. Her bleeding stopped and I leeft her alone too thinking after tthe bleeding is done nothing can happen. Nothing happened thak god but I had no idea till bird got pregnant and I started doing research We looked for a breeder for our danes that really took care of their dogs registered and all that we did find some registered breeders but when we visited we had seen better kennels with danes that were not reg. None had any thing what your talking about... We searched for months looking even far away it was hard. We ended up finding a couple breeders that just bred for pets and went that way but only because we got tired of searching. Ill always have at least 1 dane and 1 yorkie and my dane will prob go before my yorkie but once they do I'm going to be prepared with a breeder that has everything you mentioned above. As much as I would like to get into breding I probably won't my husband and I have a saltwater hobby and that is expensive enough. I was going to maybe keep one of birds babies but after being on this site and looking at all the pics I see I really want a registered tiny tiny yorkie I want a reg one but don't care if it is limited or not. Are you a breeder? Do you know someone that follows what u mentioned ? That ships their pups? And a cost with shipping? I know I red some breeders on here won't even sell to a house with small kids and big dogs so it may be hard to find one I don't have small kids but I do have big dogs my danes have always been really gentel with my birdy and I NEVER leave them unsupervised. I know nothing would happen but you never know my big dogs are so light footed when she is around its so cute they love her. Birdy loves the male but doesn't love the female its funny she gets all flustered when my female goes near my male. The babies are in my room in a box I built with a doggy door for bird to get in and out and the babies are 4 days old yesterday and bird comes barreling down the stairs wagging her tail and making a sniffingg noise at my male dane she kept rubbing him and wagging and barking till he followed her up, I jumped off the couch and ran up so fast and she's just getting in her doggy door and there is shadow wavin his tail staring at these babies no word of a lie I couldn't believe it!!! He didn't even try to sniff them he just looked and bird barked once and he turned to go. Now If my female went in there she would freak I thought she would freak if my male went in there. I had been keeping my door closed but bird kept barking not using that doggy door for some reason (bird is allowed in all rooms and all rooms have doggy doors for her the big dogs have more rules cuz they are bigger. They normally don't even go up stairs. We have a huge 6 bedroom and its pretty much cattered to live with our dogs my danes have their own room with twin beds and toy box. But I love my lil yorkies too lol. |

| Yes birdy is a yorkie shih tzu. Her grandma was a shorkie or something like that. I love her all the same and my friend has a yorkie poo. I didn't even think about the shih tzu in her comming out in the pups but after this comment I can totally see it now! The lighter pups come from the shih tzu maybe. I guess I expected the darker jeans to take over I thought they would look more yorkie since bird looks yorkie and not shih tzu the only thing that is shih tzu on her really is her tail thank god I don't like the yorkie tail I just seen one through this site actually and I had always thought yorkie tails would be curley. The pic on the YT site looks just like bird its funny. I wouldn't sell the pups for anything but what they are and my add about them does say bird has shih tzu in her and dad is a yorkie poo so I said that would make them shorkie poos. I haven't put my add out there yet because I don't know if I'm gonna sell them as a sapy nuter contract and give them away or do it myself and sell them for what the fixing costs me. I think I would feel better doing it my self! Does anyone know what age I can start fixing them?? |

| I tried to post something don't know if it went through or not. Bird does have shih tzu in her, her grandma was a shorkie, but the last poster is right you never know!!! And my friend has the father dog who is a yorkie poo also no papers. I guess I just figured since there was more yorkie the yorkie jeans would take over... I would never give them away for something they are not in fact I've been calling them shorkie poos because bird really looks yorkie except her tail I just found out. Anyways I wanted to ask what whelping pudding is?? She is on royal canin puppy food. I did give her some vanilla ice cream a day after the pups were born I know its prob not goood for her but she loves it and its the only thing I give her that's people food besides sometimes I give her chicken |

| Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Thread on whelping pudding: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...g-recipes.html Ice cream definitely isn't good for her, too high in fat. Yorkies are prone to developing pancreatitis. Check out the breeder section. That's going to be your best area for asking questions now that she has whelped.
