I just gave the old guy his CEENU chemo pill. He got it in a double pill pocket, and have to make sure he swollows it...he did. He will show some tiredness in a few days, and bounce back. In 3 weeks will take him in for all the scans and exams. Hope the news continues to be good.

My daughters Toy Poodle just started Chemo for Lymphoma, and one of her birds died a few days ago. She is not having a good week at all.

Your daughter is really having a tough week. Sorry to hear about her poodle and her bird. Hoping her poodle tolerates the chemo and responds well to it. As you know all too well, it is not easy to watch them go through this.

Her Poodle has had 2 chemo treatments so far, and gets another this Thursday. So far, the lumps are shrinking, and the Specialist believes he can knock it all out. She is tolerating it pretty well, but the prednisone is bothering her.

Carlo is hanfing tough. Been almost a week since he got his CEENU chemo pill. He is a bit quiet, and slower, but I keep forgetting that he is an old guy for the breed. A shame they have to get old and sick.

The Vet called, (Not his regular Vet who is on vacation, but another one there) . Said his White Blood Cell Count from the CBC yesterday came back at 2000, and it has always been around 5500 a week after the pill. . She called the specialist who said to put him on Clavamox for 7 days, and another blood test next week. He has really slowed down after his last CEENU chemo pill, where as before he bounced back fast or it had no effect. I just ran over to the Animal Hospital and gave him the first does. The poor guy looks so old now.....

If any dog can pull through it's Carlo....he's beaten all the odds to date.

Hugs and prayers are going out to Carlo and your family. Poor guy has been thru so much this last year, and I'm hoping he will fight his way back yet again.

I feel bad for him. Everytime I put my coat on, he jumps up thinking I am going to take him for his mile walk. No walks until we get a bood retest next Monday. Hopefully the antibiotic will stop him from catching anything bad. I keep forgetting how old he is for his breed and what he has been thru this past year.

Carlo keeps defying the odds. I am counting on his fighting spirit and the love and care that you and Marge give him to keep him strong. My thought and prayers are with your family. I believe in Carlo.

Carlo has a lot of spunk for an "old" guy. Hopefully his white count will bounce back and he will start to feel more energetic. He has been through an awful lot, but he is a trooper.

I am very happy for the news your daughter received about her poodle...very encouraging!

I'm sending my best thoughts and prayers for Carlo. It really is easy to forget how old they are. They just seem like they are still "kids", but they're not.

You know, I think Opt. 3 sounds just like his little spirit. 2 mile walk, what an inspiration you both are. Our oddest, Little Ole Man Bentley, 17, passed this past Monday & our grief has been tempered with the great memories and joy he has given us over the years. It is so canny how each of them have a personality that reaches into us & helps us guide our decisions & actions to best suit their particular needs. Our little rescue 5 month old Chad is testament to how listening to their spirits help us walk with them. Yorkies don't live with his condition, yet he is thriving. Each day is a joy to watch and he ceases every moment and savors everything. You are wise and have been a wonderful adviser, friend, and a compassionate YT community member. His spirit will wan now and again but behind the treatments, you will see him again no matter the outcome. He knows you are doing your very best for him just as you always have. I think I have an inkling of what you feel when he jumps to go with you, I have seen that in one of mine under similar circumstances. Sometimes you can just carry them outside and sit them in the sunshine a few minutes on your lap and have a little talk. It is a change in his new routine and perhaps just the sun on his face will give him a "sweet sensation" even if it is not what he wanted. Bless your indulgence and vigilance.

Thank you, all of you. Today he looks a bit better, got his Prednosne, Pepsid, and now his Antibiotic. He just looked at his food bowl and walked away. Hopefully later he will eat. He is a strong guy, even when sick. We will do our part as long as he does his! So far, he has shown no signs of quitting. Hope his white Blood cell counts starts to climb.
