I'm not sure if I'm seeing a change or if it's just wishful thinking. But, Alexander played with his brothers this weekend.

It was just some gentle batting with paws and some mouth wrestling, but he was definitely playing. He tussled with them a little bit in the back yard, too. He hasn't shown that much interest or enthusiasm in longer than I can remember.

I never even thought about a bed net, Crystal. That is a terrific idea.....I don't know how he'd feel about it but I've always loved the look of them. I'll do some googling at lunch. Thanks!

He's definitely feeling better, but I can't tell if the Anipryl has kicked in yet. I took a few days off work and stayed at home with the pups. Alexander didn't seem to roam around the house as much as he usually does so I'm taking that as a good sign for now.

It's so good to hear that some of his earlier activities are beginning to interest him once again. He is one I will never tire hearing about, so please update as often as you can!

didn't read the whole thread but wanted to send prayers up and happy thoughts to you and Alex. i hope he keeps improving and lives a few more enjoyable months or years with you as a happy and healthy senior dog.

Reading that Alexander is starting to feel and act better brings me great joy. It doesn't really matter the reason why, but it is so heartwarming to hear that you are seeing a positive difference in Alexander. I hope you enjoyed your time off. I'm sure all of your babies loved having extra special time with their mom.

I keep thinking about this bed net idea. The bedrail I ordered is supposed to be delivered today so I'll try that for a few days, but I'm seriously considering a bed net also. I need to find one locally so that I can see/feel them in person but I already found one online that I really like. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the extra bedrail will do the trick.

Someone (kjc?) mentioned using this bedrail along with a shorter one which is another really good idea. There's so many things you guys have come up with that I never would've thought about. One way or another I know we're going to get this problem solved for Alexander.

Thank you everyone! I discovered last night that Alexander LOVES Himalayan chews. He hasn't been interested in chewing for a loooooong time, not even his beloved bully sticks, but he went to town on his H-chew yesterday.
