I understand that some feel she has not done rite by this baby but I can assure you that is Not the case. She has done Everything Every vet has told her to do , and for the record the 1st Neuro Never suggested nor recommended a spinal as he was convinced from reading the reports from all the other vets that this pup had Vestibular syndrome. She called the Neuro back after I spoke with her on the phone to ask again about a spinal & was told yet again that he did not feel it was warranted as he was confident it was Vestibular Syndrome. As for the liver tests, they were never that far off and now we know why they were off at all.

The fact is, she WAS diagnosing and self medicating.

How can you question someone's compassion when she is asking a very legitimate question? I have seen 107barney help many people on YT and she is compassionate!

You keep saying all of these things as fact yet didn't you just meet the op on the internet? Can you really attest to the things that have occured in the past six months? My opinion is that her posts previously were scant and suspect. So...yes, I would question all of this.

Ohhhh did I misunderstand? The posts asking for medication seemed to suggest that you were looking for another member to provide medication to this pup since you guys said that you called all around with no luck. I do have compassion for the pup and I would have been happy to make a phone calls but no one asked me to do that - you were asking for the drug, not phone calls. In fact, I was home early today and would have called all up and down the east coast if asked. Please do not import meaning into my words that are not there....calling me names and saying I'm sarcastic is just mean-spirited and bullying. Best wishes to you and the OP, I really wish that she had listened to the medical advice earlier instead of administering prednisone to her dog without veterinary oversight and having the dog undergo chiropractic treatments. I will say a prayer for a Christmas miracle and hope for the best for this little boy.

This was the post that seemed that you guys were looking for the medication from another member, not another veterinary hospital or pharmacy. I don't see any reference to needing help with phone calls. Gosh YT has 69,000+ members, we could have canvassed the entire United States in no time.

That is how I read it and why I suggested that they provide the name of the vet hospital that needs it.

Yes I did just meet her and you all have not even spoken with her so for you to judge her is wrong. The meds she gave out of context were meds one vet or another had already given for mickey and for whatever reason one vet or another told her to stop giving. She has been so many places with this pup and was misdiagnosed time & time again and her baby was getting worse and she was getting desperate so if the vets couldn't diagnose then she felt she had no other choice but to try whatever she could to save her baby. I have spoken with her on the phone and the first time we spoke she read all the things that had been done & all test results. The meds he is on now are only part of the meds he needs but it's the Chemo drug we cannot get so if there is anyone who might possibly know of someplace that may have it we would appreciate it very much if you could maybe make a few calls. There are 3 of us and the Hosp where Mickey is rite now that are searching & have had no luck. It's been put out on Twitter & Facebook also the GME group . If anyone has any suggestion as to where else we can put it out there PLEASE let us know. I was informed a short time ago that he is starting to respond so this is a very good Christmas Eve.

No one is judging anyone. Merely commenting on what has been posted.

Back to the problem. I believe the neuro will make sure this pup gets what is needed; and, as I said it looks like the med will be available in the near future.

I have prayed for this pup since day one and will continue to do so.

He was never given the Cytarabine, it was unavailable. They continued with the dexamethazone (IV Prednisone).

Sorry that was my mistake.... I assumed that people would understand what I meant as it was stated that he was being treated by a vet, in a hospital after his tests. I am sorry I was in panic mode. I will try to maintain better control of myself in the future, and to be more explicite when I post.

I'm sure you will love this one. The Neuro was refusing for most of the day to get on board with Dr. Sisson. It has only been since this afternoon that he finally got his head out of his a$$ & she believes it was only because of the other Dr. who came in later in the day. This poor woman has been through hell & back with the Dr's in her area. It's been like the Twilight Zone for her. This poor pup should have been properly diagnosed months ago. But instead she was told it was Valley Fever & Liver Shunt then Vestibular Syndrome then back to LS then back to VS and every one of the vets said LS that would progress with time. Mickey does not have a liver problem and never has. There is NO excuse for it and Carina went through the exact same thing with Fudge for months & months before she finally got the correct diagnosis of GME. URG

Actually Dr Sisson's protocol cannot be started on this pup yet bc he is in crisis and not stabilized (as I understand it). Add to that the confusion with the personnel changing shifts, the treatment plan changes as the pup worsens and/or improves, and 3 or 4 neurologists trying to work together from across the country. delays in relaying information, etc., and problems in communications.

They have started Dr. Sissons protocol and now it's a waiting game. They will give him 48 hrs to see if the meds will work. According to Dr. Sisson he can still pull through. GME is an easy diagnosis when one does a spinal tap. Neurologists recommend MRIs and spinal taps as they are the tools of their trade. Did you ask the OP why she refused a spinal tap at the time of the first MRI? BTW did her insurance pay for both MRIs? Still praying for Mickey.

He Is on the protocol. It is at this time only part of the protocol as they can not get all the meds at this time but they Have begun.
