is it soo surprising to u lady jane that vets can be quacks ? that they look at his size and decide from that that it must be a liver shunt? is it surprising to you tha t some doctors can't read an mri or an x-ray ? i see it all the time. did you know that little shakers syndrome mimicks liver shunt? and prilosec decreases csf in an dog, that's why i gave it. i bet it's surprising to you that the neurologist won't touch my dog until he has cash in hand. what a world you live in must be perfect. and yes u did accuse me of trying to get you to dx my dog.

Vets do NOT diagnose dogs based upon size. You can tell that to some, but not to me. You see it all the time? Where??? No, it is NOT surprising to me that the vet wants money up front....what do you expect? That is normal procedure. Veterinary care is not free. I make arrangements to have the money needed for my pups...I don't expect a hand out.

What is surprising to me is that people believe you. Those things are not THAT hard to diagnose IF proper diagnostics are done. This has not been going on since October as you said, but since May! You are telling me that you allowed vets to do proper diagnostics and they missed the mark by that much; but you believe the new one. Sorry....but others may buy it...I don't. Either you did not allow the diagnostics or you did not go to that many vets. I don't know what the story is, but I don't believe that many vets made an error like that. LS does not take a rocket scientist to diagnose.
WhatEVER.
And, yes you did say you diagnosed and treated. I did not accuse you...I merely said what I believe based on what I could make out of your writings.
You treated WITHOUT a proper diagnosis.
I hope that you are now going to get the proper testing done and that your pup can now be treated properly! He will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi, I posted a thread on MT for you about this. Someone suggested White Shaker Syndrome. It's usually common in white dogs only, but Yorkies were included in the list. She had problems too. The vets couldn't figure it out. The Neuro saw it right away. It was White shaker syndrom

My Yorkie has this and it is also known as Intention Tremors.....my dog did not have any of the symptoms this OP had and it was easily diagnosed by both my regular vet and the neurologist.

As with so many conditions, white dog syndrome can be from very mild to very severe. My Sparky (Malti/Pom) has this and for the most part is mild but he does occasionally have a severe episode. White dog syndrome does not usually present with a head tilt and the dog does not walk in a C shape. Anything is possible and as bad as I wish for the OP & her pup that this was the problem, I don't believe it is. I truly hope that this new Neuro can figure out what is wrong with this pup.

Can you explain what the severe episode is like? My Teddy has this condition and I've never seen it become more or less severe. He tremors when at concentration or play and at rest there is only a slight head bobble that he has had since he was a baby.

He does not have symptoms when at rest at all. Mostly when he's excited is when he shows symptoms and mostly only a head tremor but sometimes he will sit after playing & it looks like he's going to fall off the floor, lol. Basically looks really drunk. He's had his liver checked several times & all is perfect there. He had an MRI & Spinal at WSU and all was perfect there as well. WSU is where he was diagnosed . The Dr at WSU told me that some dogs have it so bad that they can't even walk. I thank God my Sparky is not that bad. I think it has to do with the way the brain is firing because when he's having a bad episode , I sit with him & rub him & once he's calmed down he's fine. The Dr also said it can be misdiagnosed as a seizure disorder but it's not.

Default Gme

I want to let everyone know that Mickey had his 2nd MRI & 1st spinal yesterday & he had a seizure coming out of anaesthesia. He has GME, he was given meds for the seizure & is now in a coma. They have started Dr. Sissons protocol and now it's a waiting game. They will give him 48 hrs to see if the meds will work. According to Dr. Sisson he can still pull through. I would like to ask for Prayers & good thoughts for little Mickey.

Good to hear that the tests were finally done. Sorry that he is not doing well but not surprising given the length of time without treatment. HOpefully he will respond well to the chemo.
Will continue to pray for him.

Surely the neurologist has contacts. What vet hospital is this? I hardly think anyone on YT has cytosar in their home.

I was wondering the same thing. This OP has a history of self medicating and now people on this forum are trying to get chemotherapy drugs....I will still pray for this pup.

She is not self medicating. They are having a shortage of this med & No One will share what little they have . We have called all over the world all day today with no luck. Self medicating, are you kidding me with this. Who is going to sell Chemo drugs to just anyone off the streets. It's time to put the sarcasm aside . It's Christmas for God sakes & this pup needs help. Where's Your Compassion ??? We are desperate & asking for help. We just thought others here were compassionate enough to maybe try to make a few phone calls but apparently that would be too much to ask.
I understand that some feel she has not done rite by this baby but I can assure you that is Not the case. She has done Everything Every vet has told her to do , and for the record the 1st Neuro Never suggested nor recommended a spinal as he was convinced from reading the reports from all the other vets that this pup had Vestibular syndrome. She called the Neuro back after I spoke with her on the phone to ask again about a spinal & was told yet again that he did not feel it was warranted as he was confident it was Vestibular Syndrome. As for the liver tests, they were never that far off and now we know why they were off at all.

I need to make a correction to this post. It is 72 hrs , not 48 hrs.
