OMG!!!! I am so excited it's hard to type!

Layla's vet just called to update me on her rehab today. She started by saying she did something new for her today. I said "Oh?" and she told me that they were doing exercises on the ball, and another tech walked in and Layla started wagging her tail, very obviously! It could have been random, so she asked the tech to leave and come back. She left, came back, and Layla wagged again. It was an obvious response to her coming in. I am trying to hold it together but I just feel like crying tears of happiness! After 6 months, this might be her first REAL tail wag.

Go ahead and cry! I sure am! She's wagging her tail....I'm so, so happy for you and Layla. :D

Linz, I think this is the answer to your question about whether to keep her going or not. I think this is a sign to you that all this therapy is working.... and it might be good for her to stay in it for awhile longer. I am smiling from EAR to EAR at this! :) I just know that little girl is going to be running with you again and soon too!!!

Thank you all so much for supporting us and being so happy for us!

I know this is kind of silly, but 6 has always been my lucky number. My birthday is 6/6, or if you take it a little further, 6/6/84 and the average of 8 and 4 is 6 ;) I have a tattoo of northern lights with 6 of each object in it (streams of light, large stars, small stars) .... SO get this... today is EXACTLY 6 months to the day that Layla first showed signs of a back problem. I wish my lucky number would have been 1! Lol!

I am so excited to see her tonight. I don't want to wait until I'm done work!

Have been reading through this thread and when I got to this post it really touched me. My husband and I just went through a similar experience with our 14 yr. old (now Angel). The vets told us that they did not think he would make it through ICU with his kidney values up so high. He also had degenerative disc syndrome. They completely under-estimated our family!! We were able to stabilize and maintain his health for a good 6 mos. until we were blindsided by a brain tumor. Going the extra mile is always worth it when they are willing to fight with you ~ I am so happy to read that your baby is doing so well. You are wonderful people and Layla knows everything you are doing for her.

Wow, how great to come on here and read about Layla. Layla's story really is about your faith and the love you and Scott have for her! I know you've had some low points in all this, but you've hung in there and now you are telling us about Layla's getting so much better. It is so wonderful to hear. I admire you and Scott so much.

Layla's Story has touched me so deeply. Reading this brought tears of such joy to my eyes. I'll never forget her story or give up hope because of Layla. I have included Layla's Story along with other inspirational stories this year with my high school students to teach them to never give up, even against immeasurable odds. Thank you for sharing her story with us. You, Scott, and Layla are truly special.

Checking back to see how little Layla is doing. Oh my gosh, that little fighter doesn't know the word, given up.....NO WAY, never. That sweet baby has more heart than any dog I've ever met. Can't say anymore, my happy tears are flowing.

I love you Layla!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the best news yet! I'm so happy for all of you. Layla has the ability to get better and she wants to get going again. I'm really excited! Go Layla!:D

Praying for your little Layla
 
After months of not being on YT, I signed on last night only to read about Layla. I was so sad to hear about your struggles. Everyday has gotten better, and I am praying that continues.
