And clearly, you have not been around nearly enough ER doctors if you think that they just pat those kinds of patients on the back and send them off with a "better luck next time." Good! Then let the people who have been offering her advice and various options and offering support continue instead of distracting from the situatino by scolding others for their posting manners. We have admin and mods to do that. If you think someone broke any of the site rules, then report them and let them deal with it instead of trying to take matters into your own hands. | If that is the case, then why not just send a donation for the care of this dog to the OP now? It would essentially be the same thing, wouldn't it? No need to wait if you are willing and eager. |

| diversion? Next you will mentioning the CIA and a cover up. Her points are valid. I see no meeting of the minds. What is the status of the Dog? What rescue for donations? that is all I care about, not singling out individuals because their thought process does not agree with yours. |

I dont mean the poster is a liar (poster plz dont think that) but you have to be careful Plus I have the posters health in mind too, I value human life. If she only knew she might be united with her dog again, this would be a blessing to her.

You are on target. Several of the vocal committee have lost sight that there is also a human being involved that is also quite sick. I totally agree with your post. As much as I love dogs, and I love them very much, a human life is more important to me. Some will no doubt disagree, but that is fine, and expected.

But, there would be reluctance om some YT member's part in doing so. Remember we have been scammed for thousands and thousands of dollars, by a current member's request for donations, holding raffles, etc. And all in the name of attempting to obtain medical care for her yorkie. I am by no means saying this is the case in this situation, just mentioning it so that people understand member's reluctance to donate in this manner.

| Oh I know that all too well Mary. That is EXACLY the point I was trying to make. The underlying issue would be the same--footing the medical bill for someone else's dog. I would be willing to donate if the rescue could ensure that the dog would be placed in a home where any future care may need could be provided for her. I would NOT donate to one that was gonig to return her to a home where she was allowed to suffer. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 04-30-2010 at 08:00 AM. |

| This link is for a list of shelter and rescues in Georgia. Georgia Pet Shelters and Animal Rescue It would seem that at least one of them could at least steer the OP in the right direction. Not all on the list are rescues and none of them are for Yorkies specifically. Randi, perhaps you could enlist the aid of one of the rescue ladies here to help screen these rescues to see which ones are reputable and if any could help. Even if they can't help directly, one maybe able to refer you to someone who can that is not so far away.

| I'm so done with this. If you read my above post you would see all I care about is getting the dog help. Immediately. Shodun tell me where to donate and I will. Obviously anything I say including wanting the dog to get immediate help is wrong. Bama obviously you did read that I wrote when an ER doc is treating a patient dying on the table he treats first and then "has the conversation after he sees if the person stayed alive" nowhere did I say he fixes and releases and says "better luck next time!" You are just making stuff up now and for your information my brother in law is a surgeon and an ER doc. How could anyone possibly take issue with what I wrote above? Just blows my mind. It's like certain people are trying to be difficult and argumentative. All I want is for this suffering dog to find relief. Period. Like it or not you have to go through the owner. |

| That would seem to be the place to start...just checking some of these places out. This could be done today with a little legwork. If need be, we could eliminate shelters from the list and focus on the rescues. I'd be willing to make a call if the list got split up and we started making inquiries.

| I also would donate for Roriee's care if in the hands of a rescue organization that I could verify is legitimate. I would not donate to someone's paypal account on a website with break-your-heart chronicles of their dog. This OP has already mislead the public with her claims this dog would have surgery and meanwhile we hear not that the dog is getting medical care but she is getting ad hoc nursing with pedialyte while she screams in pain. I hope that this Olga who has been in touch with the OP will follow through on this dog -- if the owner changes her mind, Olga or whoever knows the whereabouts of this owner/dog should report her to the SPCA in the area so that they can get a court order to remove the dog from its suffering. You're right, it's up to the owner, but when the owner fails, the law takes over.
