Prednisone / Prednisolone my dog has been on prednisolone but low dose for 2 years and has not done that my concern is the loss of weight as that is tied to this disease and may be the cause of chattering. you can also call human pharmacists to get side effects of drugs as many times it is similar and why they use human meds in dogs many times | |

| Yeah we are going to the Vet Fri for a B12 shot. Since we don't know what disease she actually has it's so hard to get answers I'm just wondering because when she lost her 1st pound it was 2 weeks ago because she had been vomitting/diarrha all day. Now (well this past weeked) she was vomitting for 2 days straight and didn't eat much the 3rd day so I'm curious if that could have caused the weight loss. She has a hearty appetite and is spunky and playful ... Not to mention she was overweight before all this - Vet says she should be 20lbs, she was at 24 last week and after the sickness this past weekend she's at about 21.5/22. I felt we were getting this under control with the meds/food, she seems happier and her stools are better and no vomitting so I'm not sure if it was being sick over the weekend or if something worse is going on? |

It is really easy to home cook in this instance if you think the Blue isn't working. Steam some sweet potato, green beans and talapia, puree if possible, or chop into teeny tiny pieces. You can even add a little pure pumpkin to help with the loose stools. I completely understand about the finances. You wouldn't want to imagine my VISA balance !!! But, I can tell you that consulting with Susan was the best $ spent and saved me lots in the long run. The supplements are not cheap, but I firmly believe the supplements & the food have gotten Sissy to a good place quickly and ultimately saved me lots of money in the long run.

| OK....After all the very good medical advise given, what I'm about to suggest may sound off the wall. It's just a thought. OP said the problem started after she had given her pet a treat. Long story short. My nephew almost lost their pet. Turned out he had given there dog some kind of treats that was NOT made in the USA. The treat actually posioned their dog. I don't know what the symtoms were, etc. Just that their pet kept getting sicker & sicker. Thankgoodness the vet finally figured it out. As I said, just a thought. May not want to dismiss this theory. Could be worth looking into. Last edited by pancakepat; 04-11-2010 at 08:36 PM. Reason: miss spelling |
