| I wouldn't have been nice about them not updating more than one person. As long as you weren't calling every 20 minutes, I think it's perfectly normal to worry and call to check up on your baby! I would have ripped them a new one! I too love my vet, but if she ever pulls something like that, they will need to hold the phone at like arm's length to not have hearing damage!! I wish you luck and hope your baby is ok!!!

| Did they say she has a Hematoma ? This is broken blood vessels caused by infection or a foreign body in the ear causing the dog to scratch at the ear or shake it's head weakening the vessels in the ear flap. It is a fairly simple surgery and she should be fine if this is what it is. |

| Vwitscher That is exactly what happened to my Tiffaney. Thank you everyone for your help. Last night I went to bed crying over this and my husband telling me we would go take her out and go to another vet if something wasn't done today. Today I called and they said she had a great night and her blood work was normal. So the surgery is on for 2PM. I am so upset and feel helpless. Her ear was causing her so much pain and nothing has been done for 24 hours. I feel like its about the money. I need to find myself a smaller vet office. These Vets are a very well known prominent group here in MIami Florida

| Bailey was very sick a few months ago - throwing up. I took her to my vet - who was booked with surgeries all morning, but was told to bring her in anyway. This was at 6:00 a.m. - by 9:00 Bailey was tested, diagnosed and began treatment for pancreaitus (sp?). I had received three phone calls during that time - twice from the doctor and once from a tech. The treatment required an overnight stay. I was encouraged to visit or call anytime!! I visited Bailey three times - they brought me a chair so that I could stay and hold her. The doctor, the back up doctor (along with several other techs) all stopped by to discuss Bailey. Everyone was genuinely concerned about my baby! It was the best experience possible under such circumstances. Get well soon, Tiffiney!

| One way to prevent this is to use ear wash 1 or 2 times a month and smell the ears regularly. I use OtiCalm for my babies as it has no alchahol in it to irritate the delicate ears and it smells fresh. |

| I'm thinking of you and your sweet little girl. I was checking to see if there was any news. I see the surgery is at 2:00. I'm so sorry she has to go thru this. Special thoughts and prayers just for Tiffany.

| Just got off the phone with the girl at the front desk who says that Tiffaney is out of surgery and she did Great. No details, the Doctor did not come to the phone They told me to go pick her up between 6 PM to 9PM. So I said I would be there at 6 PM. My pups have never been sick or needed andy type of urgent care. This office is so well respected in the community and honestly never had a problem with them. But it seems to me that if they cannot treat us (parents) in a respectable manner then its time to move on but not withourt giving them a piece of my mind. I am just happy at this point that she is no longer in pain because of the infection. My poor baby she had to wait so long. I will keep everyone posted later this evening when I bring her home.

| Well, I'm glad it's over. The three hours waiting to get her will drag by for you, but at least they aren't keeping her overnight. Don't feel so bad for not knowing about her ear. It wasn't your fault. Take care....

| Tiffaney is home.... my poor baby her ear is a mess and so many meds, but she is a trooper and full of energy> She was so happy to see her brothers and sisters. Now she is resting and I guess relieved to be home. We have to go back in 10 days to recheck and in 21 days to get the sutures (sp?) removed with my regular vet. At which ime I will let her know what happened. I have to stay with them for now to follow up. Can you believe that the Doctor never called us to let us know how the surgery went. I had to call and I spoke to the girl at the front desk. Tonight the girl said that the vet was in the back with another patient and she had left me the instructions for the meds. But again no call or information. At this point I am wondering, am I over reacting with the attention that I am expecting? Like I said before I've never thankfully had an emergency like this with my pups. I want to thank all of you here on YT for your support and prayers. I love this forum !!!

| Awww, I bet she's so happy to be back home with you!! She looks like she has good "poor me, give me attention" eyes I'm sorry the vet treated you like that, I trust my vet, but when she's not there and it's an emergency, I dread going!! So sad how it's all about the money these days |

| Thank you BanditSocks2 !!! Believe me she is getting all the attention and those eyes are making it so easy LOL. I definitely feel it is all about the money. They made my poor baby wait 24 hours in pain to charge me an overnite fee of $200.00 in addition to the $900.00 surgery. So frustrating !!!

| I'm tickled she is now home with you. Just look at that face! She makes you want to pick her up and try to make it all better, doesn't she? She's where she wants to be now, at least. You'll need to get her a stick-on diamond stud to match the value of her ear now! JK I'm so happy she's back with you. I know you were worried to death. Probably didn't sleep much last night, either. You're both worn out, so perhaps you can take a nap together.
