vomiting yorkie..please help

Oh poor you...be careful..Yorkies love to be handfed and I have friends with YOrkies that this is the only way their dogs will eat...

and i dont think i need to feed him at an elevated angle b/c even when i feed him from my hand he takes it to the floor before he eats it, and no problems so far....im glad...if this keeps goin well ill prob just get the brake fast bowl soon and just see how it goes with getting his full meal at once in it...

Most All yorkies have sensitive stomachs and digestive issues.. I would do for your Timmy what I did for my Corki.. Give him small amts of boiled chicken and white rice.. Give him this two times a day in small amts until his system calms down.. Gradually add his hard food to the chicken/rice mixture and see how he reacts.. If he continues vomiting, I would switch to a completely home made diet which is what I had to do for Corki. Personally, I understand these commercial foods are what the Vet's recommend.. Read the Labels.. It's mostly preservatives and things dogs Do Not Need. It's Harmful to them. I dealt with many bouts of stomach/bowel problems with her until I started with the Homemade recipe and supplements.

Vets know health care. I'm sorry when it comes to nutrition, most of them DO NOT know what these dogs thrive on. You also may have to start him on carafate to settle his stomach.. BUT their Diet is what causes what you've explained.. Keep trying different foods geared towards this breed. I understand Royal Canine is the choice of many top yorki breeders.. Again, I prefer Homemade, Fresh Vegetables, meat, pumpkin, cottage cheese along with vitamin and mineral supplements. It worked for me. My dog thrived on it.. The receipe was given to me by a Holistic Vet.

Your Welcome.. Oh, I do KNOW how Yorkie's can GULP and Eat their food as if it were their last meal.. LOL. They don't know any better and it's up to Us to control the amt and the pace. Good Luck to you.

the royal canine for yorkies is very high in protein

also chicken is not always good for dogs if this is ibd i would be cautious with chicken as chicken and beef are allergents and ibd dogs have food intolerances and many times it is similar to allergy dogs

In the early stages of life Royal Canine is what I've heard Top Breeders feed their dogs.. I never used it. I went with a dry kibble recommended by my breeder for my dog.. There are many variables when it comes to digestive issues with these dogs.. What's good for one is NOT always good for another-- I agee. But the dark meat of organic chicken in small amts mixed with many other ingredients is what WORKED for my YORKI. One has to try different commercial foods and homemade recipes throughout the life of the dog.. It changes constantly. My particular recipe was made up by a Holistic Vet who believed in all natural. It worked for us. That's all I cared about.. She was done at that point with commercial foods. To have had her for almost 15 years with these problems I have to say was very unusual and she was very healthy while on this diet. After a while mother nature just took over and her kidneys and liver failed.. We had to put her down..

but isn't the dark meat higher in fat as that always concerns me as this breed it prone to pancreatitis and ibd in small intestines can affect pancreas as well as this happened to mine

Your absolutely 110 percent correct.. It is higher in fat. I questioned this with my Holistic Vet as well.. She said my dog still needed some of this dark meat in her diet. The amt was minimal in this recipe Joanne but it did work for Corki.. canned pumpkin and cottage cheese, believe it or not in small amts is healthy for them and worked for her. I think there were at least 15 or more different ingredients I mixed up. Plus royal jelly, liquid vitamin E, bone meal and many others that escape my memory right now. I cooked large batches of this every few weeks and froze it in small containers.. Lots of work for years but she was my HEART! I didn't mind.

Good for you i am still afraid of homecooking even though i know it would help my allergy dog a little bit as she is mostly environmentally allergic so no real cure for that

completely unrelated to the problem...timmy is one gutsy little guy! he is an escape artist! always finding a way through the baby gate or jumping onto couch on his own and then somehow jumping to the coffee table!! its insane he is only 5 lbs! my pom would never be that gutsy..lol
