| thanks everyone for your help. I am going to keep trying to feed them because they keep crying and it seems like I get a lot of on me or the blanket...because I can't stop shaking...and crying. I have heard NOTHING from the stupid vet! Sorry...just frustrated and angry with them. |

| They have stopped crying and are sleeping (and very peacefully actually). I don't feel like two of them got quite enough, though. Do I wake them to feed some more? Also, I have diapered them...do I just do this after feeding them? My head is spinning rght now.. |

| Oh Tammy, I'm sorry to hear about Livi. I hope she is OK. I have read that you can use cloth type cotton gauze and dip in the formula for the puppy to suck on. If Livi can't nurse and hand raising is too much for you, you might also check with the Vets to see if there are any breeders who might have nursing moms around you. Are you still in Missouri and close to Shirley that has Fantasy Yorkies ? You might check with her. Thinking or You, Livi and the babies and sending good thought your way. |

| Hang in there Tammy, you're doing good. If the pups are sleeping, I'd leave them be until the next feeding. Do you have them on a heating pad to keep them warm?

Check their tummies, see if they're nice and round. If they've stopped crying they got enough. The syringe helps you determine how much they're getting and lets you control the flow better, that way you won't aspirate. But, just let them eat until they drop off.....oh! Don't forget to burp them.....

That's the benefit of the syring/tubs vs droppers...you know exactly how much they are getting and you know that it is emptying into the stomach. S'why it's better for long term situations. | |

| Before their next feed if they haven't pottied, moisten a piece of gauze in warmish water and wipe their pp's and butts to stimulate them to pee and poo, you can also do their tummies to simulate their mom licking them. Before feed is best but you can also do it after if they appear bloated. Watch their tummies when you feed. Full is good, overfull is not so good.

| First of all, let me just say how ashamed I feel for calling my vet clinic stupid...just my own fears. They have been nothing but nice. I just heard from them and guys....this all has been MY fault!! Livi had some calcium issues, yes, but that was because she wasn't eating well for me yesterday and had nonstop diarhhea...but was still being a wonderful mommy and nursing her babies constantly. Thus, causing the calcium problems. Here's where the problem began........a retained placenta. I feel sick...I feel guilty...I feel just awful right now! When Livi had her first baby, things were crazy for my husband and I because this our first delivery. We instantly started working with the puppy. I turned and saw the placenta and thought that it seemed small, but didn't think about it again until later. Once she had the other two puppies, I know for a fact that those two came out because I had to help with that. At the time, I even asked my husband why the first placenta was so incredibly small compared to the last two. This is because she had the majority of it inside of her....the vet was able to see this with an ultrasound. She is now on IV meds. and fluids because she was dehydrated...they are also dealing with the calcium problems. They are going to call me again this afternoon to keep me updated but they are sending her home tonight and want to see her again in the morning. So, that's what I know. I will be back on later to let you know whatelse I find out. Thanks again for all of your kind words and for thinking and praying for my precious Livi. |

| All that matters is that you were alert and took her in. Other's have lost their moms because they weren't on the ball. Next time, when in doubt.....Oxcytocin shot is in order.
