| That is one question that I did actually remember to ask when she called me this afternoon. She told me definitely not tonight and probaby not at all, but that she would talk more with the vet about that. That is one of the questions that I made my husband write down for when he went to pick her up....but at the least, we are definitely looking at bottle feeding tonight and the morning. |

"IV Catheter" "IV Meds" "X-Ray" "Ultrasound" "Bloodwork" These are all of the things that I wrote down, as she was saying what all they had done. I know that when my kitty was sick, a different tech also used that term. I dunno.

| I am starting a new thread because many of us want to offer Tammy our support and send our prayers, but don't want to confuse/clutter the thread where she is getting advice and support. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/spe...ml#post2974743 Feel free to post your prayers and support messages there and keep the advice/information on this thread. I think it will really help keep the confusion level down. BIG HUGE HUGS!!

| Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | ![]() Oh man Tammy; I am just seeing this news and cannot believe my eyes. Three healthy puppies, daylight/evening whelp, no c-section................everything was going so well. I am so relieved to read that Livi will be home with you and her babies tonight. One thing going for you and those puppies if you do have to bottle feed them is that they all started out with nice healthy weights & got a good start in their life. Looking forward to see them continue to do well. Hugs girlfriend.

| I just wanted to thank Mary for the whelping pudding recipe that she has shared with us. Livi has already eaten some for me. ![]() Off-topic...Livi's babies had their appointment set up for 11am today to get dewclaws and tails done. With everything that happened today, there was no way that I was going to add to the stress for Livi or around here so my babies will have full tails (just like their older brother, Wrigley). My parti babies will be masquerading as Biewers with that full tail. Last edited by TammyJM; 01-27-2010 at 06:04 PM. |

! I must've misread somewhere...I thought the vet or tech just said "catheter" to you. In the human field, when catheter is used alone, it's usually thought of as a "urinary catheter", whereas an IV Catheter is usually called an "IV" or as above (like you just wrote) an "IV Catheter" or "IV line" / "IV access" -- but I haven't heard "catheter" alone like that, except as urinary (again, in human). I.e., in the human field, if someone said "they have a catheter and an IV in" - to me, that would mean "they have a urinary cath in and an IV line in". Sorry if I was confused and/or confused things I'm just glad to hear she is home and on the mend, this is wonderful .

| Oh Tammy I have not been online much lately and I missed all of what has been going on with Livi, read every post and am so glad to see she is home from the vets.. I will now keep a good watch on your thread...How stressful for you and can surely understand what you have been going through. And never beat yourself up,, from what I have read you got her to the vet pretty quickly... |

As for catheter/IV catheter...sorry that I wrote it incorrectly. I am sure that I was typing quickly and trying to get as many of my thoughts relayed as clearly as I could. It has been an EXHAUSTING week...actually, the past three weeks have been almost a blur with how tired I am. Again, sorry for typing this without adding the right letters in front of the word 'catheter'. It's amazing that I was able to type at all with how swollen, blurry and burning my eyes were at all.

| I have been following this on and off all day. I am happy to see that as I check it tonight, Livi is back home with her worried Mama where she belongs. I hope she is back on her feet soon! Hope you can get at least *some* rest tonight Tammy and hoping that the morning finds Livi rested and revived. |
