Yes because some vets don't want to go the distance for the client to save them money.

I just did a search. You might want to call these people.

You WILL need to know how many doses are in that bottle...there has to be a number of either doses...or the total amount of ml.

Veterinary Compounding - Pharmacy Compounding Specialties

I also found this.....might give you some good info about online pharmacies:

15ml of prednisolone for $10.75 and 30ml of omeprazole for $45. I'm thinking I'm being way over charged for the omeprazole especially because you can buy it for $30/42 pills except the dosage is too much and it'll be hard for us to cut it exactly into 20 pieces.
it is more expensive when they compound things as you have to pay for the compounding plus the meds

temarilp is prednisolone and tavist combined and tavist is a antihistamine so temarilp is good for allergy dogs but for your dog straight prednisolone is best as your dog does not need the tavist like an allergy dog does

temaril p has 2 mg of prednisolone in it

i contacted my friend to help you her name is pam and here is a post she wrote about gme to another woman so these are the drugs she is using so you may want to ask neurologist about this one below as i know my friend did a lot of research works with a neurologist in so cal and is on all the groups in the links i sent - did you join the groups? If it is not gme and the other possible diagnosis then maybe this will not work but please ask neurologist about this other drug she is using as my friend is in the medical profession she is a director at our local hospital very sharp lady and does her homework

here is her post

Do you think it looks like a seizure? That is what happened to my dog when she was diagnosed with GME. I actually noticed that she didn't seem to have good control over her back legs. Then she had a seizure right in front of me. It all happened over about a week or so. GME is a progressive neurological condition. But if you read about it on the internet, you will really get upset. There is treatment out there for GME dogs. My dog is now on prednisone and a immuniosupressive drug called cytosar. We are trying to get her into remission. If you think you might be seeing something like this, please see a vet neurologist right away. It is progressive and delaying diagnosis can cause permanent damage. Good luck to you and your pup.

Depending on where the cyst grows from the rubbing it can push on the brain. Not sure of the correct spelling of this but do a search for kiari syndrome it's almost exactly the same thing and will help you understand more of what's going on with your baby. I had one with this same thing and she lived for 11 yrs. So it's not hopeless. And the meds your vet gave are correct for this problem and should work.
it is Chiari i think you are referring to and here is some info on it

Lactulose is supposed to make you poop. My grandmother takes it because she's usually constipated..I know that's more information than you'd like to know. The doctor prescribed it. That's why your baby is probably having running poo's...especially if you are giving it to her everyday.

I believe it's 30ml a bottle of omeprazole with 2mg/ml and I'm suppose to give bella .625ml daily. I would actually like to know how much it would cost because it's pretty expensive here.

Huh, I just read the site you put Deb. It talks about scratching at the neck, mine looked like she was trying to scratch her ears. Also another symptom that can show is severe vomiting for no apparent reason. $400.00 worth of testing all came back neg. Because it was a brain prob not a tummy prob. This happened a few diff times and almost lost her 2 times from the vomiting episodes. It was during the 3rd check for the ears that I thought maybe it's something in her brain and not her ears. Lightbulb then went on in vets head so off to WSU we went.

so glad you figured it out getting the diagnosis is tough sometimes for these little ones and why i think narrowing it down on groups like this and brainstorming helps alot and then consulting with vets and specialists
