Just read your post and am so concerned. Did not note the date and hope you have found what is wrong with her. OH HOW THEY JUST WEAR us out with worry. If they could just talk or jesture somehow to let us know something of how they feel. Did you ever let us know how she is ? If so I can try to look for it. I just joined and trying to figure it all out |
Just got a glimpse of your post on compounding pharmacies...THANKS SO MUCH. It is costing almost the same for postage from San Diego as for the drug to get it to Camarillo. I can go down and pick it up if they can do it. Pooh says ,"Thanks" too. Jessie |
Just saw this and said you are waiting on something. I thought your little one was better. I am really getting mixed up on these posts... Bear with us please until we get the hang of it. If she is still in pain and having full attack I can come over and see if we can take her to my vet in Ventura. She is open on Sat. Sure makes it nice as they seem to know when to get sick "ON WEEK ENDS" ! Then emergency vet and pray you get someone experienced with her problems. Jessie and Pooh |
Wow I AM IMPRESSED with all your knowledge. Thought I knew a little and I really know very little after al your fantastic advice. So far we have only been thru the pancreatitis and IBD.. Oh my after reading some of these posts I don;t feel so bad.. Our little ones just suffer so ,...If only they could communicate just to say what or where it hurts and how badly.. Thanks for all the great advice that I am sure we all pray we don't need but so glad you can give it. Jessie and poohbear. |
Still praying for good results from the new meds.... |
Praying for you and Bella and that all our prayers for her will be answered... |
I'm so mad at myself. Bella was sitting on my lap and reached out to grab my cell phone but didn't get a good grip of it and dropped it on Bella's head. She cried and I feel so horrible. Also, earlier we were on the couch and the husband called to her on the other end and Bella was about to take off (off the couch) but I stopped her from falling and since her head is still to the side, she's not walking straight so she tried again and rushed to him but she fell off the couch instead. My poor baby...someone slap me for not watching her well enough. |
Oooohhh. Sorry you / Bella are having kind of an "off" day. Hope you and Bella have a better day tomorrow. Keeping Bella in my prayers. |

 OMG!!! Accidents do happen....I know i'd be in such a parinoid state going through what you are, that i wouldn't even let her walk... |
Sounds like success to me... I made the mistake of carrying little Pooh Bear around when she was first ill with Pancreatitis. She still whines and cries for everything. It is so nerve racking. Like a baby sick and cannot tell you and continues to cry. Then you never know how bad the pain is. I feel the more they can do the better.. Then they do not depend on you for everything. She was such an independent little thing. I created it all. Is Bella any better? I did not catch if you really found out what it was or what meds she is on if any. How about the others. Hope all are well. My little one just got over a small attack. The Budesanide is a GODsend..... Just changed her whole way of living. Keeping you and Bella in my prayers. Jessie and Pooh bear |
Should I be worried if Bella is shivering but she isn't cold? Tonight was the first night that I stopped giving her the steroids twice a day (instead I give her it to her once a day). Do you think that has anything to do with it? |

here is a link to side effects of prednisolone Prednisolone: Pain Medication For Pets (Dogs) - 1800PetMeds put a sweater or sweatshirt on her or throw some towels in dryer and warm her up - do her ears feel cold? maybe it is the other med you are giving her possibly ? call a pharmacist at walmart as they are 24 hrs or cvs pharmacist or albertson's pharmacist and ask if meds could be causing this as they know alot about meds |
Yes, she is in pain. They will hide it as long as possible. Pooh takes Tramadol. 50mg, 1/4 tab every 6 to 12 hours. Ofcourse depending on her pain. It has handled her pain pretty weel so far. When she active with her illness, I just give it regular. I can tell by her poop now when it is coming on . She is on several other meds also. If you don;t have any I have plenty. let me know and you can come over and pick it up. It takes awhile for it to kick in. If you have a vet on call, they can giver her a shot to work faster. Let me know what you decide. You have my number. Jessie |

She could be in pain. If the fluid is building up in her brain it can give her a headache. Did the Dr tell you to cut back on the pred? If not then I would continue the meds as prescribed. |

At this point I would absolutely not give her anything that was not prescribed by her vet. |

Just thought it was weird how she said I can go over and pick up some meds but she lives in camarillo, ca and I'm in eureka, ca. Also, I don't know her number. |

I would just make the vet aware this is happening, for sure, asap... as nobody's sure yet what she's dealing with. This is scary bc another dog was started on the wrong meds for a differnt condition, and it ended up making her actual condition a lot worse. May end up she might need to stay on the Pred until something else is resolved... hope no drug interaction... I'm not familiar with neuro drugs... just the ones I've taken! JK! |
I'm wondering why the vet is trying to wean her off the pred. My dog had to take it from diagnosis till she passed away. |
