Same, some days she seems to have more energy than other days. She's actually going up the stairs now though. |
Yep, I knew in my gut when I saw her pic that's what she had. I think she has it a bit worse then Sassy did. Sassy was 5 yrs when she was diagnosed and she did have good days and bad days. More good then bad though. It's kind of important to keep her stress level down as much as you can. And stress doesn't have to mean bad things. Going places even when she loves it can cause too much excitement for her and that is also a form of stress. I gotta go feed my kids I will be back after 5:00 . Also you need to baby gate the stairs and don't let her go up or down them by herself anymore as this jolts her skelital system. |

lilymae, did you see any changes in your little girl after awhile on her meds? was her head still tilted? I'm not sure what to look for to tell if she's doing better or not. She's always been "lazy" and would sleep all day if i slept all day. |

Just checking up on your baby, hope the meds kick in soon. Looks like you have some support from lillymae's experience... Good luck and keep us posted |
Everything looks basically the same except slightly more severe and bella is right and Sassy was left . She also should not be allowed to jump on and off the furniture ( Ever ) and when you have to go somewhere you need to confine her to a room with nothing she can jump on and off of. I lock mine in the kitchen always when I go places. I have a very large kitchen and I just put the beds in there and water is already in there. That's the safest thing for her. Sassy would sometimes stumble and I think most do so stairs are especially dangerous. and I know she's very low to the ground but elevate her food and water bowl so she doesn't have to stress her neck anymore then need be. |

Another thing..I've noticed Bella's been loosing hair on top of her head. I was thinking maybe she might have a thyroid problem as well but while going through her med notes, it says nothing was found. Did yours loose hair? I will try to take some photos tomorrow to show you what i mean. Sometimes I'll find a chunk of hair here and there. I've noticed it's only her head also and no where else. |

I deff think you need to talk with the vet about upping her Omeprizole as she weighs more then Sassy did at onset and Sassy was on a much higher dose all along. I'm thinking she took 1/4 tab 2X a day. I will call the vet tomorrow and ask for sure. The hair loss could be side effect of her meds also. |

Lillymae, I am so glad that mly has found someone (you) on this site that knows what her little Bella is going through and can help her and answer her questions. This just goes to prove what I have said all along. There are so many caring, knowledgeable, and supportive people on Yorkie Talk. Thank you for being one of them:) |

Even if it was only 1 dose a day that's more then Bella is on now. I truly believe the proper doses of her meds is why she lived so long. |
