Probably because it is a capsule that would be impossible to get the correct dose, is my guess. |

Make sure you have the dosage and concentration ie: how many mg in each cc or ml. And..the total cc or ml. |
Bella weighs about 5.5 lbs and she needs 1mg to 1.25ml. If we were to buy over the counter prilosec it'll be too much since it's 20mg and it'll be hard to split that so we had to get it compounded. |

Cannot be split. They are capsules so it would be impossible to get the correct dosage. I do think you might find it somewhere else cheaper, though. Do you mean she is taking 1 mg IN 1.25 ml? or are you confusing mg and ml? How many mg are in each ml and how many ml are in the bottle? |
Omeprizole is Prilosec, Well visa versa and is OTC. But we need the dogs weight for dosage. She needs to talk to her vet about it. Mine weighed 4 1/2 lbs and took 1/4 tab 2 times a day. A pill cutter works fine. They are oval pills not caps |

I wonder if the 30 is the amount (ml) or the amount of doses in the bottle. That is such a small amount that you totally would NEVER be able to calculate it. I just wonder if you could find it for less money. Certainly worth calling around since you may be using more of it! |

No it was omeprizole pepcid does not slow the production of the spinal fliud she also took Theophylline/compounded. The C before the omeprizole stands for compuonded FYI for the OP. And my baby has been in heaven for almost a year now. She passed away at 11 yrs. So I can't remember exact dosses but I do know the prilosec was in pill form and I 1/4 them with the pill cutter. She also took pred. She was diagnosed at WSU. I would discuss these meds with the Dr and mention the Theophlline. I was told that was a must. And she lived 11 yrs so they did something rite I would say. |

I just did a search. You might want to call these people. You WILL need to know how many doses are in that bottle...there has to be a number of either doses...or the total amount of ml. Veterinary Compounding - Pharmacy Compounding Specialties I also found this.....might give you some good info about online pharmacies: The Scoop about Online Veterinary Compounding Pharmacies | Blogs about Dogs, Cats and Pets | Petside.com |

temarilp is prednisolone and tavist combined and tavist is a antihistamine so temarilp is good for allergy dogs but for your dog straight prednisolone is best as your dog does not need the tavist like an allergy dog does temaril p has 2 mg of prednisolone in it |

i contacted my friend to help you her name is pam and here is a post she wrote about gme to another woman so these are the drugs she is using so you may want to ask neurologist about this one below as i know my friend did a lot of research works with a neurologist in so cal and is on all the groups in the links i sent - did you join the groups? If it is not gme and the other possible diagnosis then maybe this will not work but please ask neurologist about this other drug she is using as my friend is in the medical profession she is a director at our local hospital very sharp lady and does her homework here is her post Do you think it looks like a seizure? That is what happened to my dog when she was diagnosed with GME. I actually noticed that she didn't seem to have good control over her back legs. Then she had a seizure right in front of me. It all happened over about a week or so. GME is a progressive neurological condition. But if you read about it on the internet, you will really get upset. There is treatment out there for GME dogs. My dog is now on prednisone and a immuniosupressive drug called cytosar. We are trying to get her into remission. If you think you might be seeing something like this, please see a vet neurologist right away. It is progressive and delaying diagnosis can cause permanent damage. Good luck to you and your pup. |

I believe it's 30ml a bottle of omeprazole with 2mg/ml and I'm suppose to give bella .625ml daily. I would actually like to know how much it would cost because it's pretty expensive here. Quote:

Huh, I just read the site you put Deb. It talks about scratching at the neck, mine looked like she was trying to scratch her ears. Also another symptom that can show is severe vomiting for no apparent reason. $400.00 worth of testing all came back neg. Because it was a brain prob not a tummy prob. This happened a few diff times and almost lost her 2 times from the vomiting episodes. It was during the 3rd check for the ears that I thought maybe it's something in her brain and not her ears. Lightbulb then went on in vets head so off to WSU we went. |
