Ladyjane is the person on here with the most experience with rescues you should let her help you.

I have not worked with them personally; but they are a Yorkshire Terrier Club, so my guess is, YES.

I know - a sick TWO pound puppy in pain. That made no sense to me either. IF Someone can't afford simple medication how on earth will they be able to pay to ship. Shipping a sick puppy to me seems a death sentence

I just got off of the telephone with one rescue and they DO ask people to ship to TN since they don't have anyone to do the surgery in California.

NOW...here is my thinking. If a group has agreed to take Melody, then perhaps someone on YT can fly WITH her in a cabin!

wow. My next question - is who pays ? When a person can't afford vet care - does a rescue pay or leave it up to the individual to cover it ? I now understand the reason because of what you just said - but still wonder about the process.

This could help others so that's why I'm asking

The rescue pays for the airfare if the person cannot afford it.

Good thing. I know that Terri Schumsky's Fanny Mae Liver Shunt Fund, use to have board members fly to pick up pups and deliver them to Dr Tobias......

Question, Melody's owner is not responding publically, is she responding to someone privately?

I thought UC Davis performed the surgery and/or UCLA

I have such an awful sick feeling in the pit of my stomach thinking how this poor little girl is suffering. I hope everything gets sorted out sooner then later, the thought of her in pain is to heart breaking.

My sister lives in Knoxville Tn, she willing to take her to UT vet hospital if we can get her out there, as far as expense for the vet we both have accounts there and UT often takes the animal as payment want know if they will do that until they see her.

I just read this thread and this whole thing is soooo sad.

I'm so proud of all of you for trying to offer OP advised and help. I hope and pray that she listens and Melody becomes pain free very soon. Melody you're in our thoughts and prayers little one!!!!
