GI Problems are driving me nuts

I am not a fan of tilapia cod is much better there have been some bad write ups about tilapia and i am on many nutritional dog groups. I can pull up the info if you would like and post it

Amazing......It's what my husband's Cardiac Specialists recommend him for him to eat over cod.......

At I think at this point Lissette is just wanting Lola to eat so, that she can get the meds down her......

yeah but as we know not many docs or vets are real up on nutritional aspects - I do not think she needs anything toxic in her system besides this med at this point and why i am mentioning it as i have seen it come up alot on dog nutritional groups by people who do a lot of research and the cod at sam's club is what they recommend in frozen section as it is not farm raised

here is some info on juicing - i would just use zucchini and celery as that is what they use on liver shunt and mvd group and a nutritionist recommended that to me as well for all dogs

So now you're saying my husband's Cardiac Specialist is a quack......

I really think that you need allow Lissette follow her vet's instructions......She's dealing with a life threatening issue, and getting her dog to eat and if her vet recommended Talapia and it inticed her to eat, great.

Ask her about the levels of mercury in fish that is not farm raised. Is that not also a concern?
I really thought that salmon and tilapia that are farm raised were healthier because of that.

If Lola were mine, I would just be happy to get her to eat. If she does not eat, that medicine is going to make her sick.
I spoke with Lissette today and she was so worried because of Lola's decreased appetite.
I totally understand...and sometimes we do have to let them eat whatever just to get them to eat something. I have spoiled many a pupster when they were ill only to have to undo it later on, but it kept them going during the time they needed the nutrition.

I totally agree....getting her to eat is what will keep her alive.....once that appetite goes, you're fighting a losing battle......I know, I've had to force syringe feed one of my dogs and lost her anyway......without the food the meds did nothing.

farm raised fish are not healthy for us or the dogs; however, right now the primary concern is for lola to eat. also, you can always find wild salmon, tilapia or cod in the shops; u just have to look or ask for wild not farm raised, if you are concerned about it. however i believe no harm will be done if she eats the farm raised for a short period of time. hope she gets better
