I did ask Beth to at the very least to re-imburse me for the 2nd fecal test and the antibiotic. Here are the emails that we sent each other. Do I still have recourse after this? I have not cashed the check yet. Should I wait on cashing it? (I was shocked at hell to actually hear back from her and actually get small check.) I am sure she was afraid of what I might do!

She's liable for all vet costs per the California Lemon Laws.........and since vaccinations......

Her problem could be food related, or a multitude of other things. Does she have hair on her ears? If not she could have black ear, which spreads to other extremities. But your best bet is get her to an allergist.

I noticed the law says I have 15 days to document contagious or infectious diseases. I am not just past the 15 days. Does the email I sent her count as documentation or do they mean with the state or something?

How is Molly doing? I’m glad she is so happy, and that you have the time to give her the extra care a young Tea Cup needs. I’m sorry you had to spend an extra $20 for medication over your initial vet check and to go back for a follow up. Although it our policy not to pay outside vet bills since we have a vet on staff, we will reimburse you for the $20 for medication, and $45 for the recheck on her stool. We want you to be a happy pet owner.

If Molly does need any additional vet visits however, we are happy to have her here and seen by our vet, and to care for her here if she needs it. But we cannot pay for any additional outside vet bills. We will stand by the health of our puppy, and again, the offer is open, we will be happy to care for her here and with our own vet. Molly’s health is the primary concern.

I’m glad Molly has such a good home. Please e-mail the address you would like me to mail your $65 reimbursement to.

Hi Beth,

To confirm with you the details about Molly; I purchased her from you on December 26th late afternoon. I then had inquired about all of the doses of Albon that she had received per your medication slip (last does only being the day prior Dec. 25th) and you had said "not to worry, that was just a preventative antibiotic for puppies who live in a kennel and that she was an extremely healthy puppy". I took her to the Vet on Monday the 28th and paid approximatley $88 for the office visit and the fecal exam. Today the 29th of December the Vet calls and informs me that she has coccidiosis and needs to start Albon. I today purchased that for $20 something and started her on it right away. I plan on taking her back to have a repeat fecal test in 1&1/2 - 2 weeks to be sure that it is all cleared up this time. She is a VERY happy puppy and does not appear stressed in the least. ( "The primary sign of an animal suffering with coccidiosis is diarrhea") She runs and chases us, is very playful and is eating and drinking. The diarrhrea I have seen has not been excessive and as bad at every stool. Some seem almost normal to me actually. The Vet is confident that Molly will get rid of this coccidiosis with this series of antibiotics and feels that it is best that she is now not with other animals where she can continue to get re-infected. If he is right about this, the only cost I should still incur would be the repeat Fecal test costing approx. $45. I drove a long way to get her and she seems very happy and content and is being taken great care of. I may have decided to get her at a later date had I been told that she in fact did have this parasite. It would be nice if you at the very least would reimburse me for the treatment that I had to pay for this so-called "healthy puppy" who in fact was not completely so. We love her to pieces and are all very attached to her as is she to us.

Coccidia (Coccidiosis) in Dogs: A Cause of Diarrhea

First of all since she sent meds home with you, she knew the pup had Coccidia. It is on her premises and very difficult if not impossible to get rid of. Mother's are at times carriers and of course shed it at times of stress, pups will get into feces and ingest it. Or just by walking in areas that have already been infected.....yorkies are very clean and constantly licking their paws.........

Teacup......please, another breeder that breeds for $$$$ and charges more for a tiny. Reputable breeders will not place a pup under 12 weeks of age and/or weighing less than 2 pounds. We won't sell heartache.

I meant to say I am NOW just past the 15 days. And do you mean yes, My email counts or yes I am too late? I just called the Vet by the way and they are faxing me a copy of the chart that says healthy puppy on examn day, but day after shows results of fecal having Coccidia.

yes, your e-mail counts......I would ask for the entire treatment amount, as well as vaccinations......I'm sure your vet will document everything for you.....

The pup already had a case of Coccidia.....I'm not sure if others pretreat. I don't....I'm not one to administer anything that is not necessary......even de-worming...However, my contract states, that if anything such as coccidia and or worms show up, I am liable.

no its just from like the middle of the back down to the tail and it is very short you can see a huge difference in the lengths

Problem with the vaccines will be I am getting them for little above cost through my moms friend and all I will have is the sticker off the vial. I will not be asking for money for them because I am not having my Vet give them. At least not this time since we already have them. My contract states that the seller is NOT responsible for vet bills if the puppy is not given a clean bill of health. Also states seller is not responsible for any consequesntial damages after 48 hours of the date and time of this agreement and all sales are final. It also does say that buyer and seller acknowledge that the puppy is in good health to the best of our knowledge. I beg to differ on their part. Seems as if they cover their butts quite well with this contract, however shouldn't a Lemon Law overcome that?

Another thing.. I am wondering if there is a reason why she has such bad dandruff. I am hoping it is from bathing. But I have only bathed her once, maybe twice.

Sorry.....California Lemon Laws.......Contracts should be drawn up in conjunction with the Lemon Laws...Better print out the Lemon Laws and send them to her.

When I first got Pixie I would feed her 4 times a day and I would give her a TBSP of wet and about 1/4 cup of dry kibble. If she did not eat all the dry Kibble I would leave it out for her to nibble on as she needed to.
