I will try to guide you to start a new thread.... You are in the Sick & Injured/Emergencies Talk Forum .... You should be able to see a tab above the forum name that reads: New Thread You click on this to begin a new thread. Be sure to give it a title like suggested by 'Dwerten'. I will post a print screen to try and show you this 'New Thread' Tab. It is in a small blue box on the left margin. Printscreen.jpg Click on the picture above and look to the left margin directly opposite of the page numbers. Hope this helps you.

| ![]() If your baby just ate a little chocolate, you should be okay. My little guy, piggy that he is, dug into my book-bag and ate one of those HUGE milk chocolate bars, like over a cup full of chocolate. I found him in the process and induced vomiting. I thought he vomited lots of chocolate, most of the chocolate, but it wasn't enough. The results were horrible. His little legs trembled, he was sleeping too deeply. After 24 hours he was almost unresponsive, he would look up if I flicked his eyelashes, and that was about it. He was squeaking as he breathed - very irregularly and shallowly. He ended up at the hospital for four days, IV, lots of different meds, his little gums looked like the blood would just come through the skin. It was about two weeks before he was back to normal. He still has spells where his breathing isn't normal. That said, remember he ate one of those very large bars, about 8 inches by 4 inches by 1/2 inch thick. Call your vet, or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435. Milk chocolate is one of the least toxic chocolates, but still poses a danger. |

| ![]() Rico is a 5 year old yorkie. Not sure why he has seizures. They started when he turned 2 1/2. He has them about once every 6-8 months. The vet checked his liver and other enzymes and they were good. The vet is sure that it is epilepsy. Rico's mom had some food allergies (corn, dairy). Rico also has food allergies and if we keep him away from the trigger foods his seizures are even less frequent. Heartgard also causes seizures in him so we use interceptor and it works great with no problems. |

| ![]() Awww - poor Chewy, I am sorry but at least you know what it is now. I have no experience but found this information. Giardia canis in Dogs It does appear to be contagious and there is even speculation that it can be transmitted to humans tho it has not been proven. Hopefully someone with actual experience or insight will be here soon to help you. Good luck and I hope that Chewy is better soon.
