| Hi fever with unknown cause... I am so sad right now. We went away and boarded Sebastian at a kennel that he has been to several times. When I brought him home he vomited once and was not acting like himself. He was lethargic, tail down, wouldn't eat much, couldn't muster the energy to go up and down even a single step to go outside to go potty. I took him to the vet and found that he has a fever of 104. They did a CBC? blood test and didn't find anything out of the ordinary. They sent me home with some meds and two days later he has not improved at all. They did more tests. They said all his organs look fine, but his white count is rising, and his temp is now 104.8. They gave me an antibiotic since there is a good chance it is a bacterial infection. They also sent away for a test for autoimmune diseases. I won't know much more until Monday. If he starts to get better over the weekend, then the antibiotic is working and it is most likely a bacterial infection. If he doesn't then they will have to see how the other test comes back to know how to proceed. I am just so upset. He's only 2 years old and he has been through so much. Just over a year ago we went through the traumatic incident where he swallowed a penny and was poisoned by the zinc and almost died. I thought we had finally gotten to a good place and now this .

| Any chance you can for the kennel and find out if any of the other dogs came down with an infection. In any case they should be notified. Sure hope Sebastian can get though this and be healthy in no time.

| The kennel has been notified. At this time no other dogs have been reported as sick.

| Thank you. His fever is down at the moment. Of course it seems to usually be down in the morning and then rise throughout the day. I keep hoping it will stay down. Yesterday he was sitting next to me on the couch and then jumped down (which he does all the time...he is 7 pounds and pretty sturdy). But, his back legs completely buckled under him as he landed and he almost fell over. It makes me so sad to see him this way. Now I have to be careful to not let him jump off the couch, and not try to go up and down the stairs.

| The vet has me feeding him cooked rice with boiled chicken. The first two days he would gobble all of it down (only 2 Tbsp. of rice and 2 Tbsp. of chicken). Last night and this morning he only at a couple small pieces of chicken and left the rest. He is drinking, but I feel like the amount has also decreased since yesterday.

| Sounds like what my Trixie had a few weeks ago. She was in the hospital for 2 nights. If she has a fever then she has an infection somewhere. My Trixie was on IV and antibiotics. They said they thought it was pancreatitis but I still don't think it was. She is only 10mo and was not throwing up or had diareah at all. After getting IV fluids and antibiotics she came home and has been fine ever since. Her fever got up to 105 at one point. Wouldn't eat or drink. I'm sure there is someone here who might be able to direct you. If he doesn't get better in your opinion. I would bring him back to the vet. You know your baby best.

| I'm hoping he just has an infection and the antibiotics he's on will make him get better. I am glad that I had the test done for Autoimmune Diseases just to make sure there's nothing else going on. I'm watching him very closely right now and will be off to the ER vet in an instant if he takes a turn for the worse.

| Boy that sure does tear at your heart strings Lexi is so small and I worry all the time. We had her at the vets a few times with throwing up and he has put her on antibiotics too when all the test come back ok. He told us sometimes just licking poopy off of concreate outside, from squirrels or birds or lizards can cause them to get sick. Hopefully, the antibiotics will help keep us posted we will keep him in our thoughts and prayers. |

| I heard back from the vet today and his tests came back negative for Autoimmune Diseases. I am soooo relieved. The vet thinks that it is most likely an infection since he seems to be responding to the antibiotics. And, his decrease in appetite is probably from the antibiotics and as long as he's eating something and not vomiting then we will continue with the medicine. I am so relieved that he seems to be turning the corner and doesn't have a life-long illness of any sort.

| That's great news. I will continue to pray for your baby. Believe me I know how scary it is when they are sick. I almost lost my Trixie to this and she's only 10mo. Also the bill was in the range of 2800.00 when all was said and done.

| When the small ones get sick the medical bills really pile up quickly. I have insurance for Sebastian now, so we will see how much they cover I'm glad that Trixie made it through her illness. When Sebastian was 8 1/2 months I almost lost him and it is the scariest thing ever.
