| I order our shots from revival the Duramune brand. They only ship air and come in a cooler pack, I order extra ice and if the ice is melted they are returned. They are immediately refrigerated. I was giving anti nausea meds and injecting fluids to keep them hydrated. All that passed bled out in their last hour. I was giving pediasure 1/2 -1 ounce and hour then beef liver water 1/2- 1 ounce the next. They were also given a dab of nutri-cal anytime there gums were not as pink as they should be. |

| Oh my! What a heartbreaking thread. I am holding out hope for you, Yoda, and your other litters. Sending you lots of hugs too. I have never dealt with Parvo so I am not much help-but it sounds horrendous.

| Update Good news: Yoda is still showing signs of improvement, still eating on his own and wanting to play. Poor baby cries and cries, I feel sorry that he has to be locked up all by himself. Bad news: The almost 6 week old pups are showing signs. I have started them on the antibiotic, and nausea meds. I my self became very nauseated this morning when I noticed loose stool and two of them vomiting. I just don't know if I can handle another round. And still one more litter. I will keep everyone updated. |

Just a question.. when you were dealing with the first litter with parvo, could you not have started the other litter on meds at the same time.. or is a process.. I had a yorkie that was 6 months old when I got her and she was to have all her shots.. but got parvo that spring ... she was at the vets for 6 days on a drip and made it, at a cost of 1,200. for the 6 days. I got her to the vets on the first sign.. her first bloody poop.. drive three hours to a vet I trusted.. it was hard.. and I am sure this is even harder on you.. My heart so is with you and I have not stopped thinking of you and the babies.. the stress of it all alone is devestating.. I keep praying for you in hopes our prayers will work... anne | |

Yorkie Yakker | Parvo too Whatever happened? I have a 6 month old pup and she has parvo. I read your ad looking for hope. She has been in the hospital for two days now. I have other pups. They show no signs. I bleached everything but mostly I pray. |

| My second litter showed signs this morning. Which is 6 days after the first litter showed signs. I had high hopes they would make it without contracting it, and I could start their shots tomorrow, but that didn't happen. I am hoping that having everything on hand and starting at the first sign I can manage these babies better than the first litter. I still have a litter that is only 3 weeks old. I am so drained emotionally that I am can't think straight. I am writing everything down that I do, so I don't second guess myself. I have used my shark steamer and mixed 1/2 bleach 1/2 water and done my ceilings and walls, and the same mixture on my floors. I take a bucket of bleach water and clean their entire area, anytime one vomits or has diarrhea. I am getting little to no sleep at times. Trying to catch naps here and there. I am sorry that you are dealing with this also. It is such a horrible virus. I never knew just how devastating it was. I am not one to worry or show emotions often, and I have cried more this last week than in my entire 30 years. I am tearing up now just reflecting back. No dog should ever have to suffer this way...... |

| update This morning its all good news. Everyone is still with us. I have had three hours of sleep, didn't mean to but I think I needed it. I was very leary of opening the door to see what I would find, and though there was a mess for me to clean, all the babies are doing really good for the circumstances. Capri is the worst, but she is still up and moving. Chloe is the best, she hasn't shown too many signs that she isn't feeling well. Still growling at me for attention, Brodie is looking better today along with Malibu. They were playing, tuggin on each others ears. I refuse to get my hopes up, but am thinking I might make it with these guys. I know a have a long week ahead, and anything can change but, oh they are so cute, and such an improvement from yesterday morning. We are still having lose stools, but haven't seen any vomit after yesterday afternoon. I just gave some Pepto Bismol, and some liver water. Chloe and Brodie actually drank on their own!!!!, I am going to give some Nutri-Stat in an hour and push some fluids on Malibu for sure, and check the others for dehydration. |
