I'm so glad to hear they got his brother! Everyone is different, but a new puppy helps me to deal with the loss and heartache. That was very sweet of the breeder to offer him to them. I bet they will be very protective with sweet Joey and love him very much!

I hope Grandpa feels better soon. It would be very hard to be in his position. So heartbreaking!

Wow, that is wonderful! This will help them heal and get on with enjoying "puppy-love".

Oh, Mary, I am so terribly sorry. Please reassure your kids that little Joey will never "replace" their Carter's place in their hearts but will create his own. I am praying for you all during this difficult time. Also, please give Grandpa an extra hug for us. I can only imagine the pain that he has suffered too. God bless you all.

I just came across this thread. So sad to read this. I'm glad they took another puppy.

As for the vet not doing anything, I think the vet knew that if there were internal injuries, that he would not be able to save him anyway, so did not put the couple through the expense of xrays.

Welcome home Joey...remember...he is not a replacement, he's an addition!!! Hope grandpa can get over this tragedy...I will keep him in my prayers...

So glad they have a new yorkie to love. What a kind thing fir the breeder to do. I'm praying for grandpa. May he too be able to bond with Joey. I'm imaging that Joey will bring much joy to those who get to interact with him
