| I just checked, and her tong is purple, and her gums are a dark color.... Also, I know they did a fecal test last night at the vet, and it came back clear... Last edited by Lillys_Mommy; 12-17-2008 at 01:31 PM. |

| I agree, I would get her to the ER vet right away or another vet in your area. Call around and find a vet that will take her right away, most are still open. She could be having a vaccine reaction and that would be very serious. Anytime they are vomiting and not eating it's usually serious... |

| Parts of their gums will be black. That is normal pigment. The lighter part and their tongue should be a nice pink color. If not pink, she needs to go to ER. With liquid stools, vomiting and all those vaccines, I would go immediately.

| Well, we ended up taking Lilly to the vet. They took blood, and didn't like how she was looking so they called an emergency vet, and told them we were on our way. Parvo test was negative. We got her to the vet and they took her away from us at the door. She is really dehydrated, and x-rays showed she has a severe case of pneumonia...... The vet is keeping her overnight, and gave her a 50/50 chance..... Please pray for my little Lilly....this isn't fair.... Her daddy and I can't afford much more care, so quickly...tonight alone was just over $800 between the vet and the hospital... If she isn't doing better by tomorrow, then we can't afford another night's stay....:u nlove::unl ove: |

| You have no idea how you've all helped me through this tough time.... Today is exactly a week ago we got her.... The doctor gave Lilly a 50/50 chance of being ok. We left her there, and came home. Then we get a call at 4:00 am this morning, the doctor said she'd taken a turn for the worse, and that her COLON was COMING OUT OF HER. THAT'S NOT NORMAL! THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN TO HEALTHY DOGS!!! He said unless we have an unlimited amount of money to spend, since she was in a lot of pain, the best thing to do was to put her down..... My baby was put to sleep at 4:20am..... I had a Bully with his colon out, It was a $300 surgery that we had to do 3 times and then we finally paid for a $900 surgery that would make it stay in for life. The vet told us that it is a Hereditary problem and presents itself sometimes for no reason or when there is too much strain on the colon, maybe the watery stools caused this. Have you contacted her Breeder? They should offer something to you for all the pain you have suffered. If you only had her a week she must have already been somewhat ill and the colon problem is hereditary maybe they can help you somehow. I KNOW that is probably the last thing you want to deal with now but just for when you are ready.. you are entitled to something. I will pray that God give you the strength to get through this. | |

| Thanks everyone..... You don't know what you've meant to me through all this.... We went back to the pet store an hour ago, and the owner wasn't in, but the kid working called her, and she'd be in this afternoon, so my boyfriend is going to handle this.... We're not going to let her death go unpunished.... I'm just absolutely heartbroken, carrying her pink chew toy everywhere....and I"m supposed to go to work in a half an hour until tonight, and put on a happy face like the world is perfect and cut hair.....riiiight...... My poor little baby girl... |
