| I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Lilly. My little man Jack died of bacterial pneumonia last summer...he was only 8 weeks old and had all the symptoms Lilly had. His breeder did me right, refunded my money. Make sure you get a letter from your Vet re: everything they did and gave to Lilly and how she died. Usually when the babies die from pneumonia, well at least in my case....he had it for a while, long before I purchased him. Your in my prayers. Keep your memories close to your heart. |

| The pet store I got her from is Stacy's Pets in Mooresville, NC. Since her death, I've heard nothing but bad things about that place. One man told me he used to work for the owner, and she got her dogs from a puppy farm for dirt cheap and that she knows what's wrong with every dog in the store, but doesn't let anyone know of these records. He said the owner is out to make a quick and easy buck.... He cruel....!! |

| I believe that NC does NOT have a Puppy Lemon Law, However there are laws in place that state they must give you a record of all Veterinary Care Recieved, a Health Guarantee, and the NAME AND Phone/ADDRESS of the Breeder that the puppy came from! Please contact the Attorney General, Better Business Bureau and State Dept of Consumer affairs and File a complaint with each, they may also be able to help you. Hope that can help you out some In states where there is no lemon law, the state attorney general’s office, the state department of consumer affairs or the Better Business Bureau may have jurisdiction to address consumer disputes with a particular pet shop. These states also require pet shops to disclose particular information to purchasers and prospective purchasers, which may include the name and contact information of the breeder, any veterinary care provided to the animal prior to sale, a guarantee of good health, the animal’s vaccination history, recommendations for spay/neuter, and/or species-specific care guidelines. |

| sick puppy I am so sorry to hear this happened. It is so easy to get attached to them as they are so lovable and sweet!! It is best to purchase from a reputable breeder. The breeder we purchased from doesn't even let her pups outside (except a trip to the vet when getting vaccinations) until they have all of their shots. She also doesn't let them go until they are 12 weeks old. I did lose my first one due to complications from neutering. It was a freak thing. A couple of weeks later, I got my second. It helped me lot. She has been very healthy so far. I am really sorry. |

| I am sooooo sorry for your loss. What a horrible shame it is that people sell to pet stores and that pet stores sell sick puppies to people who get their hearts broken. I know you loved Lily and tried everything you could to save her. Again, I'm so sorry. Shame on the chain of people who let this puppy get sick or bred two unhealthy dogs. Tammy

| Hello everyone, and thank you SO MUCH for your help and well wishes. A week ago today, we got another puppy, Holly, and she's been amazing. My boyfriend's parents brought her to us from a highly-recommended breeder. Today, all of a sudden, she's not feeling well, and today is my birthday....fantastic..... She's a little more lively today than last night, she vomited twice in a minute, but it was all water. she's never had a problem eating. Today, she drank a little, but hasn't eaten yet. I gave her a bath to get the poo off her, and she rolled around on the floor to dry herself, so that made me feel a little better, she's not real weak, just wants to sleep. Could this be depression from Shayne's parents leaving? They got her in Missouri and had her for a week before bringing her to us, and she was with their poodle, and she was a happy, healthy puppy. They left Saturday..... I'm wondering if she just misses them and their poodle...? |

| If I were you Id take her to the vet right away for a check up. Dont wait on it just in case. I am so sorry to hear what happened to your puppy, that was a very sad story. My heart broke for you and Lilly. Best of luck to you with your new puppy, I hope you have a long healthy happy life together.

| I can't believe how this stuff keeps happening!!!! I'm going crazy!!!! Shayne talked to Holly's breeder, and said to give her some pepto for her tummy. I gave it to her on my lunch break at 11:30 today. We got home around 4:30, and she was sick still, and had vomited up the pepto. I wasn't waiting anymore and took her to a pet hospital. They were SO GREAT with her, and the worst news came back. Holly has parvo. We can't afford a lot of treatment after everything with Lilly.... They only charged us for the exam and the parvo test, didn't charge for the fluids and meds they gave her thank God, and they sent her home with us since we can't afford another trip to the 24 hour hospital to keep her there overnight. The doctor said she got it because she was under vaccinated. The breeder didn't give her parvo vacs. until she was 12 weeks, then another at 16 weeks. The vet said she should've had them sooner. I'm taking her back there in the morning, and they are going to keep her all day in a warmed bed with fluids for only $30.... Thank God they understand our situation, after hearing about what we went through with Lilly, they want to help in any way they can... I PRAY that this all works before we can't do it financially anymore....!!!!!!!!! I'm absolutely heartbroken and becide myself. After losing my sweet Lilly, a week after getting Hollly, she becomes so sick....... I just don't know what to do..!!!!!!! Last edited by Lillys_Mommy; 12-30-2008 at 03:58 PM. |

With parvo it is dehydration that kills not the virus itself, so please try your best to keep her hydrated. If the vet gave her fluids under the skin and she hasn't vomited that is great, if she is still vomiting and has diahrrea (sp?) you must give her pedialyte .. give her 3 CC's if she holds it down 25-30 minutes give her another 3 etc. this will help keep her hydrated for you. Just give her love and a will to live. I hope since she had some vaccines the virus won't hit her as bad. If she makes it for over 72 hours she should pull through. It willl get worse before it gets better so be prepared, Gucci and I will pray for her if you need anything or have questions please PM me. | |
