I'm so relieved to hear Stedman is OK. Poor little guy. And poor mom and dad, you can lose ten years worrying about these little fur babies. It is such a relief to hear it isn't anything life threatening. Brooke keep us posted on how Stedman is doing. |
Question.... While we're on the subject of finances here....does anyone know anything about pet insurance? LOL. I figure I might as well get some as much as we are in there with these babies of ours. I swear, I walk in the door and it's, "HEY BROOKE!!!! :wavey:" - "Hey Steddy, Hey Tator!" - I always tell them...I don't know why you guys act so happy to see us, it's not a GOOD thing that we are in here again ya know" lol. I don't know why my little ones are always having issues :( They get the best care, the best food, etc. I just don't get it :( Stedman NEVER has any problems, up until now. In fact, before this, the ONLY thing he had been to the vet for, was shots. Except he did have kennel cough when he was little, but they discovered that when he went in for shots because I mentioned it to them. I don't know, I just don't understand. All the dogs that I had before this in my lifetime never had any issues - except my Cocker Spaniel when she got older. We are SO lucky with our babies, because they are perfect for us and we love them, we've just unfortunately got UNlucky with alot of the health issues that they've had :( I know these are things that any baby can get, but dang....it seems like BOTH of my little ones always have something going on :( Anyway, sorry for rambling...but if anyone knows anything about pet health insurance, I'd love to hear about it. My hubby was looking at some online and several that he found didn't cover half of what Tatum has (all her issues) so that would be pretty useless to us. He did find Purinacare and said that it SEEMED to be pretty good...but who knows. Ok...hubby and I are off to get something to eat. We're both starving and there is no way I'm cooking tonight after this long day I've had :( Hugs to you all and thank you all again so much for all of your care and concern for my sweet little guy  |
I am glad to hear that Stedman is doing better in at least one department. I pray that the medicine will do the trick and that it's only a UTI. Please keep us updated. |
Brooke~ As I shared with you in a pm a dear friend told me about STEDDY .. I will be praying for him and be sure and check your pm I answered all your questions there. I honestly think based on the research I have read and seen that it is diet related too. You and I have had this discussion before. You have my number if you need "ANYTHING" you call! Love ya PS I will be at the HOUSTON dog show and would love to catch up with you some how. LET ME KNOW HUGS Vicki:) |
:hands: :hands: :hands: going out for little Stedman. My Sadie has ALWAYS had a secret crush on your little boy and is just devastated that he's under the weather!!! You should probably ask your vet if shock wave lithotripsy might be an option to disintegrate the bladder stone without the need for surgery. Keeping you in our thoughts and a BIG  for Stedman!! Pat and Sadie |
I just saw this thread and I'm sorry that you had to go thru all this last night Brooke. Been there done that, with Jerome's tummy issues. I'm glad that everything is getting better and prayers going your way a little Steadman's too. As far as Insurance goes, I have Petsbest and I like it a lot. I decided to do it since I ended up at the ER more than a few times for Jerome. I was going to get VPI, but I had a bad customer service experience and that was it for me. Prayers and hugs for little Stedman and you. |
Brooke-im so glad you updated us! Poor lil Sted! :( we will be praying that it is nothing serious!! :hands: Hopefully, the medicine takes care of it! ;) Give big hugs and kisses to Steddy!!:kiss3: We will keep our fingers crossed for the next vet visit!:xfingers: He is lucky to have such a good lil mommy like you to take care of him! :) He will be fine!! xoxo. |

oh and i don't know much about which pet insurance is best! sorry! but.. i know there are alot of things that aren't covered(like you mentioned before) so im not sure.. we were interested in it too.. but after looking into some of them.. they almost didnt seem worth it! i have heard of people putting the money they would pay monthly for the insurance, into an acct for their babies! (so that is something to consider also;)) |
Hi I just wanted to pop on and tell you I did read your thread yesterday but I didnt have time to post a long replie, Im so glad he is feeling better now and is home with you. I also thought that maybe he had ate some thing and was blocked, and also had stones the way you said he was peeing. My Mickey did that and I just wanted to say please keep a close eye on his peeing, if it starts to dribble out again take him back, when They thought Mickey had a UTI and gave him meds it helpe dfor a few days and then he was back to straing to pee to no pee again, the vet we have played a guessing game on him and well he was so cloated from not being able to pee he could of busted an dit could of killed him, so pleas eif you see him straining again dont wait get him in there for another xray and maybe surgery. males can not pass a stone thats in their penis they just cant. heres some of my older threads on stones. HUGS hun. Kepping your baby in my prayers. Bladder Stones information http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...formation.html My threads on Mickey and his stones. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...eep-up-me.html Mickeys now on U/D prescrition foods and only bottled water. |
Have you looked at Care Credit? Someone mentioned this to me the other day. I believe it's a low interest line of credit you can get to have on hand in case of emergency. It's not like insurance. You still pay, but it helps you manage it a little better. Hugs and good luck. Give Steddy a kiss for me. |
Poor little boy! :cry8: I hope it is nothing serious and he will be better soon. :hands::hands::hands: |
