| I would just let the Vet examine him..A similar situation with another members pup on here had the same experience after vaccines..she would not eat..but the vet put her on fluids and sent home some prescription diet. She is doing fine now..Once your pup is hydrated again he will regain his appetite. |

They get it from sniffing the ground where another dog with parvo has pooped within the last year, vaccinations sometimes take a few weeks to kick in, thats why you give them 3 when they are puppies spaced out by a couple weeks.. and until it kicks in you keep them away from places where other dogs have been. My dog got it in a dust storm somehow, we are thinking the fecal matter was blown into our yard, because he NEVER left the back yard... Just watch him! | |

| That is great news that you are going to see the vet! My Abbey had the exact reaction after her first vaccines.........not drinking or eating and very lethargic! I was so nervous that I called the vet immediately and was instructed to bring her in if she continued on like that. She gradually started drinking and eating a little at a time. Whew......I was so relieved! Please never hesitate to call your vet, that's what he is paid for!

| Thank you all for your help! The vet checked Mickiey out and didn't see anything wrong with him. He said that he may be reacting tot he vaccine this way so he offered to give Mickiey a shot (to relieve the pain that may have been caused from the vaccine I think) but I refused. Mickiey just got over kennel cough and he had been taking antibiotics for 10 days so I didn't want to harm him anymore. The vet told me that in that case I should give Mickiey 1/8 of baby aspirin and so I did but after a few hours Mickiey still wouldn't eat. Then I decided to switch up his food (he's been eating wellness for about 7 days now and he had LOVED it) but I still decided to try. SO when the vet told me that there is nothing wrong with his lives I boiled him chicken and gave it to him, Mickiey ate it with sooooo much appetite I was amazed! I am guessing that he stopped liking his food so starting today I will be cooking for Mickiey. I found so many great recipes already on YT. I'm sorry to have worried you guys with something that I believe is not at all serious, my Mickiey is just being picky. But I thank God that that's all it is!!! Thank you all for your support! |

| Their appetites change a lot, but at least now you know if he stops eating that you may have to try something new. Mine loved chicken baby food. She would lick it off my finger at first and she ate that until she started eating puppy food. She has no problems eating now.... So glad everything was ok..

| I am so glad myself that everything worked out. Thank you all!!! I just wanted to say mommaofmia that I looked at your babies' pictures and they are ADORABLE!!!! so so cute. I do have a question for you though, when you fed them baby food was that enough or did you also have to give them doggie supplements? were they getting all of the nutrients necessary for them from the baby food? |
