Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I think she needs medical attention from a different vet first ...and ASAP then worry about those people - They sound terrible ....Kelly and the others had very good advise but it sounds like your baby needs some VET ATTENTION now or you could lose her - this is not good that she's this bad off....Please take her to see someone and tell them what the situation is - they can work out payments if money is a problem - but I would take her to a different vet and get her records from the first vet. |

| O no that is so sad.Well the 1st thing i would do(the only thing i can think of right now)You report those people for abuse. You said that they still have 1 yorkie Right? That means that they are giving that yorkie twice as much cus (the one you have) is gone. That makes me so sick.Yorkies are so tinny and it is so easy to hurt them.I feel so sad for both of those puppys but at least the one you have will live out there live in a loving home.Did she even notice that one of her dogs were missing?I would go steal the other one so the can be together and it dont get beat on. | You need to get a second opinion from a different vet ASAP. The first vet sounds a little shaky to me. And really I mean today when I said ASAP. Poor baby. Good for you for helping this little dog. |

| Hello Again!!!!!! thanks for writing back we appreciate the help! Of course like i said the police cant and wont do anything, i live in missery (missouri) and the town i live in is absolutely no good. The animal shelter wont do anything, i do appreciate the advice about calling them and asking them the laws i will have to do that. But other than that they dont care about your pets really, they like to find them on the streets and then fine you money, but they are not really animal people, like i said the town i live in they are all crooks BELIEVE ME, so that would be out of the question. And as far as the neighbors go, im not concerned about them, they seem to baby the other yorkie a lot more, than my snickers, but someone asked about the abuse i have seem them do and they yell at them a lot and when they walk them on leashes they jerk them, like when they are going to the bathroom they jerk them back in the house i dunno if they think its funny or just ignorance but at least i saved one and I AM AFTER THE OTHER ONE AGAIN!!!!!!!! And i will get her b4 long hehe. Keep me updated as i will for you guys thanks soooooooooooooo much. btw shes sleeping lol sindel |

| Snickers update Pleased to hear this little angel is improving. Did the first vet put her on any medication for infection from her teeth? Infected teeth can kill a dog so it is important that she be put on antibiotics ASAP and then have a complete dental workup done. There is something seriously wrong with this little one and she needs medical attention NOW. Did the vet do any x-rays of her legs? It is quite possible that she suffered a head injury however the vet should have done x-rays to rule out skull fracture etc. You can't just leave her to get better on her own she needs to be monitored by a vet who knows what he/she is doing. By leaving her to recover on her own you may well be sentencing her to a life of deformity. Has it occurred to you that your neighbours aren't asking for her back because they are aware of the amount of $ it is going to cost to bring this little darling back to health. Take a yorkie rescue is never easy and almost always results in extensive medical bills. I applaud your efforts to save these little furbabies but you must also be prepared to provide the kind of care they need. I'm sure if you were to contact a yorkie rescue group in your area they would be able to assist you in getting the care the dog needs as well as helping save the other dog. Good luck. |

| hey thx for the info. I never knew of a yorkie rescue group, so there is most likely not one around here missouri really sux. I have not taken her to another vet im going to see how her checkup goes on wednesday. No the vet that i have been taken her to has not done any xrays though now that i think about it he should have, i will have my mom ask him that at her checkup. She is doing really good today!!!! Shes walking really good, shes not stumbling all that much she staggers a lil bit but other than that shes doing excellent!!! Eating fine, drinking fine lol. Im actually taking better care of her than the vet was, they had her laying in a bed with water and food, and she couldnt feed or drink herself, so i feed her on a plate, and give her a water bottle and she does fine, but they didnt really do anything to help her improve. But shes doing better, and i will have the vet take xrays Good though well i better go thx a lot sindel and snickers |

| Happy to hear she is doing better. By all accounts it certainly sounds as if she suffered a head injury or a stroke. She sounds like a fighter so hopefully she will continue to improve. She's in good hands now. |

If you report the dog as found to the police and the local shelters in this country ( England) After 9 days the dog becomes legally yours. Call your local animal shelter and find out what the legal time limit is on the dog to be able to keep her legally. If they have not reported her lost or stolen after a certain length of time LEGALLY she becomes yours and they have no legs to stand on to claim her THEN if you chip her and she slips out and you see them with her by law they would have to give her back to you. That is how it works here. I found that out with Cheeky while I had her. I am sure the states have a legal way to make her yours as well if she is not claimed and if they are not coming for her I doubt they are reporting her lost or stolen either. As for her health take her to a second vet and get an opinion from them it could very well be her teeth if they are that infected. Good luck with her and let us know how it works out. | |

| Please keep us posted on her condition! One suggestion: keep all the receipts from your vet. If the neighbors do decide to come after you then you will have proof of the amount of money you have spent on her medical care. Also, I think the suggestion by people to call the animal shelter is a good one. They should know about laws that would apply in your situation. Good luck!! |
