| I am having the same problem with Bear. It just started today though. I noticed he was having some diarrhea&there was a tiny bit of blood in it I called the vet hospital&they said he probably has parasites¬ to worry. I'm calling the vet tomorrow (they're closed today) &making an appointment asap. Idk how I'm supposed to get a poop sample if it's diarrhea though ... any suggestions anyone?

| Now Holly has it! I can't believe this. No sooner do I get Gracie's squirts cleared up then Holly starts in. She started mid-day yesterday and had several squirts during the night. So far no vomiting and no blood that I can see. Fortunately I put her in her ex-pen with lots of disposable pee pads last night so I could get some sleep and contain the mess. Now that Holly has it, I figure this has to be something contagious, like a virus. I so hope we get rid of this before we head out to the beach in a little over a week. She is on Pepto and I have her on only Yogurt this morning. I have a question for anyone to answer who has knowledge. Do parasites cause repeated bouts of diarrhea alternating with normal stools or just constant diarrhea?

| My daughter just changed to Nutro and both her dogs had the diarrhea all over her house. When a dog starts with diarrhea, take all food away for a day--just water. then add low fat cottage cheese with rice the next day, and then gradually add boiled chicken. Pumpkin does help diarreha! Anyway, my duaghter works in a emergency vet clinic and this is what they do. Pat |

| Just got back from the vet. No parasites for Holly. They are not sure what is causing this. As both dogs had it 24-48 hours apart they suspect it could be a virus. That would explain why so many diarrhea posts here of late. I hope we are not dealing with tainted food or treats. At any rate, BOTH dogs go on Forta Flora for a week. Holly gets a prescription bland diet, canned. If she is not better in 3 days, they gave me Flagyl to give to her. As we are going out of town right after Memorial day, they did all they could to try to get my babies cleared up of what ever this is!

| Oh man! So sorry about Holly and the other sick babies! My boy seems to have cleared up on his own thankfully! I went to take a sample to vet thurs night but he didnt do anything, friday he did it again, I called the vet and they were closed. I just kept an eye on him this weekend, his activity level, gave him yogurt and made sure he drank lots of water! He seems fine! I haven't seen any diarrhea since friday morning! I am hoping we are fully recovered! I am sending good vibes to other babies with yicky bums! I hope everyone feels better really soon!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I keep Benebac on hand at all times. I have found that it helps with any stomach problems. You can find it at Petsmart or Petco. Comes in a package of 4 or 5 tubes for only a couple of dollars. It's helped every single time. I even have a thread on it. Seriously, though...after a couple of days, I would have taken him to the vet and had tests run to rule out anything bad.

| Bloody diharrea My yorkie dog Maya is almost 2 years old. on 25th March I neutered her and everything seemed to be fine. Had to wait 10 days to cut out her stitches (April 4TH) but on april 4th at 2.45am she woke me up as she was sick. She had diharrea and poop sticked to her fur. When I woke up and she came down the bed she started vomiting sticky and thick stuff for about 8 times, white/yellowish in colour. She stopped vomiting after an hour so i decided to give her a bath and she was happy and lively that she was clean. Went to bed again at 4am but she woke me up at 6.30am again and i thought she needed to pee but as soon as she went down the bed she did liquid diharrea with some traces of blood. In the morning we contacted the vet and went to him and he didn't test anything or asked me for anything. Just gave him the details. He said she is not dehydrated but found she had a bit of fever and gave me Septotryl and asked me not to give her any food for the day. He said it will take at least 2 days for her stool to look more solid and be normal again. IN the meantime Maya had been very lively, always begging for food, no loss of apetite and very playfull and full of energy. Yesterday she woke up and my mum found 3 patches of diharrea that were getting solidy and traces of blood. However today (2nd day) when she woke up mum found the first 2 patched of diharrea with little bloods and becoming solidy while she did the 3rd poop right after the other 2 this was full of blood and completely liquified. I'm taking maya to the vet in about 2hours but i am seriously worried now as although she is very lively and always begging for food the amount of blood in her diharrea is seriously worring me. Apologies for the long blog but i'm VERRRYYY worried. |

I hope your baby is doing better, what did the vet say? I found out that my boys had probably eaten duck poop from around BFs pool where the ducks landed and bird poop is full of parasites and other stuff that can make a dog super sick. My other boy got it after Dexter cleared up. He was on meds for it and he seemed worse off than my Dexter was. You can try giving your baby 2 tsps of regular (not low fat) plain yogurt, or 2 tsps of canned pumpkin (not the pie filling kind).

| My Spuddy went through the same thing not too long again. My cousin feed him something like looked like slim jims but for dogs and I think it was too rich for his stomach. When he pooped, it smelled like a spicy sausage or seasoned ground meat. I went and fixed him some boiled chicken breast strips and white rice. Then give him about 1/4 teaspoon of pepto bismol and the next day or two he was up running around if nothing was wrong. I really hate when my 3 year old baby boy gets ill. |
