I too, am sending good thoughts, prayers and warm wishes for Scooter! I don't have any personal experience with this, (other than with human babies and adults who had the same surgery), but I spoke to a couple who had a Yorkie who had recently had it (they had him with them at Petsmart), had surgery and was doing GREAT! You'd never even know that he'd had it done!
My prayers are with you. I know I'd be so worried too. But I'm sure he'll do just great...it's so amazing what they do these days!!!

Carole, nvnvgirl, and Zander's mom~~Thank you all for the well wishes and keeping Scooter in your thoughts. Scooter and I have made so many friends here and the support has been so helpful and encouraging.

Update: Scooter has his appointment with the surgeon at noon today. Depending upon his evaluation , all needed labwork and tests/xrays will be done today. If the dr says it all looks good to procede then the surgery should be tomorrow. I will update on how today goes this evening.

Again, my heartfelt thanks go out to everybody who has show such wonderful compassion and concern for me and Scooter. I have changed my profile background to reflect that " Scooter Has Heart.

Thank you. It's always encouraging to hear that other yorkies have had this surgery and have done well. I don't know of anybody yet whose dog had the traditional incisional surgery. It would be helpful to be able to talk to someone that did. Timmy's (YT) little Lilly (RIP ) had the coil surgery and she has graciously given me her number to call her. Thanks Timmy!!!

Just wanted to let you know that I will say a little prayer for Scooter in hopes that the surgeon gives the best possible news today.

Update: Scooter saw the surgeon today and so far everything looks good Chest xray and bloodwork were done. If the bloodwork comes back OK, then his surgery will be on Thursday. My little man was soooo good during all of this . I am so proud of him.

My little Pom/Chi mix had PDA and had the heart surgery at 1 yrs old. He will be 10 in Oct. The surgery was wonderful and he should live a long time. I am praying your fur baby is as lucky as our Rusty was.

Wrote Scooter's name on the backside of my hand so that I would remember to offer prayers for him during the day. Will do so again on Thursday. Glad things went well today. Keep the faith.
