Scooter wants to thank everybody for all of the hugs and prayers. He knows just how powerful they are

We received the write-up from the cardiologist and he states if Scooter has the surgery "His prognosis for a normal and long life is excellent in my judgment". That's what I'm hanging on to.

At least you know that you are doing the best you can. I am so sorry you have to go through this. I hate it when I step on a little toe, so I know it must be hard to realize that you are choosing to cause the hurt. It sounds like the surgeons know what they are up against so that is a plus. My thoughts and prayers are going up for Scooter and you as well. I've never had a furkid who had PDA, but our daughter did have surgery for PDA when she was 4 years old. The docs said they didn't know how she even lived to be 4 years old with the amount of oxygen she was getting in her blood, it wasn't enough. The did testing and found that her heart was severely enlarged, so bad that you could only see a few of her ribs on the one side. I don't know if it's the same for a furkid or not, you might want to talk to the cardiologist and find out, but they did have to put our daughter on life support when the procedure was done. I had NO CLUE about this until after everything was over. My husband and I were a complete wreck and so scared, but we gave it all to God and he carried our lil girl through and gave her safely back to us. She's now 21 years old and has another heart murmur, but this one isn't the kind that can hurt her so I'm very thankful for that, but, she does now have a bicuspid aortic valve that can cause problems later in life. Jess has a pretty big scar, actually ran all underneath of her breast and had another scar where they had to put a drainage tube in, it healed up to be a kealoid (sp) scar, but hey, at least she's alive and so I have no complaints about the scar at all. don't know how much difference the operation is with a furkid and a skin kid, but I know the fear and worry and lump in the throat that just won't go away has got to be the same. Scooter had a great day today. I have been worried that all of his car rides will be associated with the doctors so I want to take him out as much as possible this week. Yesterday he got acquainted (sp?) with his new carseat. We just sat in the driveway and he seemed to like it. Today was his first real drive in it. We went to Home Depot and he also got his first experience around people/cars/activity/noises that were not medically related. He was such a good boy, I was so proud of him. Tomorrow we go to the bank and a drive-thu at Dairy Queen.
I am dealing with this OK this week but I know that next week will be completely different. I will update once we visit with the surgeon next Monday.

Gosh, that is so sweet of you!! And YES I absolutely believe in a higher power. In fact, this afternoon while Scooter was resting, I sat outside by the pool reading my current Joyce Meyer book, saying my prayers and thanking God for all the blessings that He has bestowed upon me. Included in those blessings are YT and all the wonderful people here.

Oh dearest Scooter please know you are n our thoughts and prayers. I just pray that God is with the Doctors as they perform surgery on you and that you pull through with flying colors. Your little boy is beautiful and looks too cute in his car seat. He sure is lucky to have a mommy who thinks of his feeling, it's great that you are taking him out so much before his surgery. He is having fun!!
