| I am hoping Bella and Diggy are better today. Who would ever think that such a thing could happen? I would send an e-mail off to the manufacturer and let them know you almost lost your two precious babies because of their bacteria infected chews! They need to know. What about sending them the bill too? We purchase these items thinking they are safe and unless we read a horror story such as yours or mine we would never know otherwise. Bella and Diggy get better. Bella drink your water little girl. Make mommy happy. |

| makes perfect sense that bacteria would grow on it! My Bella will take them outside and lay in the grass and then go get them later that day. I am going outside today to search the grass to make sure she hasnt hidden any and i guess the rest go in the trash. How scary for you PAULA!! Hope those two are on the road to a full recovery. It is not uncommon for humans to get c.diff after long term antibiotics. they usually treat with an antifungal med for the gut. We isolate patients with clostridium difficile in the hospital. These lil guys get so sick so fast. I am not sure if the strain is the same for humans and dogs. Guess my point is have your family wash their hands after handling the pets and before eating or touching their faces. Its easy to transfer from human to human, i just dont know about dog to human. Big hug to the lil patients!!! |

| So sorry they were both sick but I'm glad they're doing better now. I just threw all my bully sticks away and a piece of rawhide that Matty was chewing on. Thanks for the info.

| I didn't have time to read this whole thread ... but I read enough!! Thank God little Bella is going to be OK! I will keep you all in my prayers. Thank you so much for the warning. After Toto choked on a Greenie and I threw them out, she was absolutely wild and since everyone was raving about Flossies, I tried those. She really liked that but she was chewing on one and began to gag and choke. When I took it from her I pulled a really long string of it out of her that probably reached all the way to her little tummy!! Out went the Flossies too! Now she only gets 3-4 Wild Salmon Yummy Chummies a day and a dehydrated chicken tender after dinner. If the chicken tenders turn out to be bad for her ... God help me, I will be out of options!!
