| Thank God Yorkieluv was awake. How is she this morning? PediaSure is found at the grocery store and DogSure at the petstore.

| I, too, have no advice but wanted you to know that we will keep your baby in our prayers. Hope she is better today!

| If she doesn't stop having seizures, you need to get her to the vet to get a lactulose enema....

| Thank you everyone! A HUGE thank you to Yorkieluv! Sissy finally had a bm at 5 am, I kept giving her the lactulose slowly every hour and she did go a large bm. I was so thrilled! She is still a tny bit weak but sooooooo much better. She is back to drinking and eating on her own. I am kinda wondering if they got into some food they werent sapose to. She has a little brother Diesel that is 3 1/2 pds that is doing the same thing that Sis was yesterday. He hasnt had a diagnosis but they "suspect" he is liver comprimised also. I just look at these babies and think what am I doing wrong? I have 4 Yorkies and 2 are sick. I am gonna try the same thing with this little guy as I did last night with Sis. He isnt walking right now but no seizures either. We did just wake up so I hope he didnt have one while we were sleeping. Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers and yorkieluv for staying up with us last night.... you saved us from a emergency trip to the vet last night and my sanity I'll let you know my little guy pulls out of this. Its so sad to see him try to get up and his legs just collapse from under him but Im gonna keep him right here with me. |

| Prayers are with your little ones tonight. I hope Sissy and Diesel both will be as good as new very soon. Alyssa and Emmy send their love and yorkie kisses. Tonight we said a special prayer for your babies before my girls went to bed. We wish them both a speedy recovery.

| I'm glad to hear she's doing better!! Yay!! But I'm sorry to hear that your other little one might be sick too Just remember the importance of giving lactulose consistently. Keep an eye on BMs, and make sure they both go 2x per day and SOFT. If you do this, you can avoid seizures and hepatic encephalopathy in most cases. Also, I wanted to remind you of the Marin. I would recommend switching to plain milk thistle or hepatosupport and vitamin E added.

| Thanks everyone for your thoughts and special prayers. Yorkieluv thanks for the reminder about the marin. I will definitely go get what you suggested. Which would you say is the best and the easiest to give them. Diesel still hasnt had a BM and hes been getting his lactulose all day. Have you ever had your babies back legs go out on them? Hes walking on them again but hes very weak, only about 3 or 4 steps and he lays back down. Scary stuff! Oh today I got them both to eat their RC moistened with water like you suggested and I also went and bought a couple of cans of Hills k/d from the vets in case I need it. Is this ok to give them? I havent done it yet but thought I should get it before they close for the weeeknd.... you know how things always happen at night or the weekend. |

| Hi scrappymomma I use Hepatosupport, and it can be ordered at www.homevet.com. If you prefer, you can buy milk thistle in capsules instead at a health food store and dump it on her food. If you need me to, I will send you a link with the dosage recommendations. I do not recommend K/D for a liver compromised dog...Although it is low in protein, it contains the wrong *type* of protein. It contains pork liver which is an organ meat and is extremely taxing on the liver and should be completely avoided in liver compromised dogs. Instead, ask your vet for canned L/D. This is the food recommended for liver compromised dogs It's much better for them. Does Diesel act disoriented?? Is he doing that staring thing like your other baby was?

| Here is Dr. Dodd's recommended dosage for Milk Thistle from her Healthy Pets newsletter: Dog's size Dose as % of adult human dose 5 lbs 10% 5-10 lbs 15% 11-20 lbs 20% 21-40 lbs 30% 41-70 lbs 50% 71-100 lbs 75% 100 lbs 100% Newer studies have found that milk thistle should be given along with Vitamin E for best results. Marin is really a better way to give milk thistle now. I get mine from Entirely Pets: http://www.entirelypets.com/marindog..._utmk=32937215 |
